Line lock didn't release possibly. I know that will happen once in a while. That's my guess.

It's a reverese wheelie.....I think the bike dudes call it a stoppie...he's trying to get the back wheels off the ground to wow the fans.........

Tranny brake released the first gear instead of reverse!

greg fulk 05-30-2007 04:12 AM

looks like he just turned both bulbs on @ the same time & said shiznit! & slamed the brakes. just my guess........saw some of that @ Norwalk in the left lane! (myself included)

A. obviously it is the throttle stop coming into play. They didn't want any horsepower hits!

B. They wanted to practice the top end during qualifying which necessitated the stoppie!.

Check out the 66 or 67 Chevelle wagon a few pictures before this one! Clean!

stockracer 05-30-2007 09:04 AM

The car shouldnt have a line loc or trans-brake at this point...My guess would be that they rolled in to fast as said above or part failure.

Chris Hill 05-30-2007 09:08 AM

Or the car is landing from a wheelie with poor front shocks....

There's a sequence of photos... hit 'previous' on that page for one or two photos before that, and there's a couple after that one as well.

I was in the other lane and couldn't tell what happened.
He was in the prestage and the car lurched forward and he must have jammed the brakes!
What made it lurch??????????
In the third photo my car is leaving and I was .062 so it happened before the tree came down.

Later, Bill Koski

Ty Webb 05-30-2007 10:42 AM

come on Bill, we don't really want the truth. We're having fun making up stories. Sometimes fiction is stranger than truth. I guess now we work on the lurch.

The lurch? Had delay box set pro pro-tree instead of full tree! Light reading box went off on photographer's flash?

Jack McCarthy 05-30-2007 06:48 PM

bill was 062...

with the king kong spot he might have been ...
adjusting the delay box
tuning the radio
watching the playback tach
etc...

he wasnt gonna be busy for about 3 seconds anyway...
could he have backed up and restaged before his tree started ????

LOL... hope it was elims so bill's killer U/S won the round !
