What to ask Santa for Christmas

With Christmas just a few days away, don't forget to ask Santa for a locking-type dipstick for your automatic transmission. This new rule for 2010 applies to Stock, S/S and all other categories that run 10.99 (6.99 1/8th mile) or quicker. There is a list of accepted aftermarket locking dipsticks posted on NHRA.com.

It's on page 83 of NHRA excepted devices. I had to click every page but I'm not a computer person.
Under competition

Go to NHRA.com and click on Competition. Then click on NHRA Accepted Products. Scroll down to page 83.

No one seems to have a turbo 200 locking dipstick. Maybe some one needs to make one.

Well, I have no problem getting one, if there is one for a 200 trans, after the skeeter killin cloud I made at Valdosta. Any one know of a locking model, for a 200 ?

I spoke to Lokar at the PRI show. They should have one out any time now. The one for the TH-350's is really nice. It comes with a quick disconnect and a dust plug.

Anybody know if a regular GM locking dipstick will pass? If not I need one for the 4l60e in my 95 firebird bracket car if anybody can help me locate a acceptable one I would appreciate the help.

I need to ask for some of those Not ported stocker heads that will run 1 under so they will let me play in stock.

I'm not sure how they'll determine who manufactured any locking dipstick. All of the first bunch of aftermarket locking dipsticks I saw looked just like a regular GM locking dip stick.

I thought this rule had been around since 95' or so. At least that was what I was told by tech back then.........hummmmm..........but what the hell I didn't know it was legal to work over combustion chambers until the rule came out 3 years later.

I just got a respose back form NHRA Tech on my email to them. As of this time a GM locking dipstick will be OK.

Re: What to ask Santa for Christmas

Lokar makes a real nice set up that allows no spill when dip stick is removed. All quick disconnect a real plus when changing trans. They have extra trans. ends that allow you to keep one in your spare trans. and ready to use. Call Lokar and ask for Brian Downard. They also pay contingency.
