Searching for this Olds Stocker
 

I'm searching for this 1970 Cutlass two door sedan that was raced between 1974 and 1977 by Jim Kinney out of Canton, Ohio. He sold the car to someone in Wooster, Ohio (we think) in 1977 and only seen once or twice since then.

Craig: I had the pleasure to meet Jim at Indy several years ago. He approached me and said "I used to race a car like this years ago"...the line we all hear a hundred times a year. But then he mentioned his name, and I recalled seeing his name/car in some old National Dragsters that a friend had given me.

No real good leads yet but I do remember a W-31 car at a chassis shop a few years ago in Wisconsin that was getting back halved. The shop was selling the rear end out of the car but I never put two and two together until a few days ago. Anyone know of a 1970 Olds 2 door sedan in Wisconsin that was back halved? There's really not that many 1970 Cutlass 2 door sedans with tubs out there.

Have you tried the bulletin boards over at www.realoldspower.com? That site is owned by a friend of Kevin's (and mine) who races an Olds powered dragster, and owns the strip in Lawrenceburg. You might also try talking to Fred Connell, he used to campaign a nice Cutlass in Stock, I'm sure you have seen Fred, he runs a GT car in Division 2.

Could this be the back-halved car you were talking about? From the United Manual Transmission Racers [UMTR North] website. They are based in North-East Ohio.
