Letters on slicks
How do you remove the white letters on slicks or the front runners? I have a couple pair and would like them to be blacked out.
Thanks Robert |
Re: Letters on slicks
what I like to use is from a company called Rema Tip Top and the product is called Liquid Pre-Buff Cleaner,You should be able to find this at you local tire supply store like Waters Company in Baltimore and Myers Tire Supply they have stores in Pa I believe. You can use other chemicals but I like this and it doesn't seem to hurt the compound.

Lacquer thinner works, but you have to keep flipping the rag over to get all the film off.

Re: Letters on slicks
you should take the tire off and turn it around, or dunk it in a bathtub a oil.

Re: Letters on slicks
When I first saw the title of this post, I thought you were asking how to change the embossed identification lettering on the rears. I'd like to see who's willing to post the answer to that one. And yes, it's been done. :)

Re: Letters on slicks
Inset or outset ? Black silcone against a mold for either if you do it right, for inset, recess the original and feather the edge, then dull the silicone with a flat black flexible paint ?Dosent seem hard to me.....Or use FX latex If I can make my face look like its melting off with it, and make molds for model parts with it this would be a slam dunk.....
(Note:When your 15 and do make your face look like its melting off with special effects latex, dont go in the house and Say...MOM A car battery exploded in my face....arrrggggg.... yeah that didnt go so well...poor mom...seemed funny at the time though...amazing SHE survived my childhood) Quote:
