Chrysler contingency
Has anyone heard if Mopar will be paying for valve covers, assembly, ignition, etc. this year?

Re: Chrysler contingency
I dont know but what I DO know is they cancelled their Specific Drag Pak contingency program, after I called and said what is the payout and they said what are you talking about, I pointed them to their OWN site with the docs and guidelines...I was supposed to get a call back, instead after its been there 2 years on the site now its just GONE.
Nice........for other DP owners you might remeber the PDF "Contingency Guidelines" now its POOF..... Nothing like promising something then after the fact killing it....im pretty irritated about that one, but not as much Im sure as people like Garlits and some others who lettered their cars according to guidelines. Re: Chrysler contingency
At least you can race the car.....The folks who bought Camaros don't even have a class to run....:D WJ

Re: Chrysler contingency

Re: Chrysler contingency
There is nobody left at Mopar that get's it - and there is no $$$$$. All the guys that understand class racing are long gone - or working elsewhere ....................:-)

Re: Chrysler contingency
My dad runnered-up in Super Gas @ the Division 5 race in Brainerd, MN in June last year.
I believe Mopar paid him for the valve covers and engine assembly. Albeit, they were the last company to pay and it took almost 3 months. Either way, they paid. I assume it doesn't matter what class you run in, you should get paid. Also, we didn't call or contact anybody. We assumed they WOULDN'T pay, but they did. Thanks, Brad Rose |
Chrysler contingency
It made me a little nervous beginning 2009 about whether Mopar would pay.
Just got the last of my money from them a couple of weeks ago. |
Re: Chrysler contingency

Re: Chrysler contingency
My old man lives in Michigan and he told me the other day that the big auto show is going on up there in Detriot. He said it was reported on the news that Chrysler had very few cars on display. The reports were the titanic I mean Chrysler is going down.

Re: Chrysler contingency
Despite Mopars difficulty this year, We received all our checks this year within a couple of months of the race..... much better and less problems than with several of the others we are still waiting for.. No complaints for us for Mopar. they paid all their many and generous postings enabling us to afford to finish the season!!!:)

Re: Chrysler contingency
two points....
first- it is understandable that mopar changed their original contingency program.... remember the bankruptcy? second- as gtxjohn mentioned, MOPAR has paid all the contingency that was posted last year to me and many others (unline some other manufacturers). I have got more from MOPAR for winning class than others have got from all manufacturers combined- thats a fact. I think they have been more than generous when it comes to paying for class wins. thanks MOPAR tom sheehan |
Re: Chrysler contingency
I agree with Tom they always payed well.

Re: Chrysler contingency
I was not asking if they paid for last years contingencies. Question is are they going to be posting contingency this year.

Re: Chrysler contingency
sorry ron
i have not heard a yes or no......... i have not seen nhra or ihra post a list yet either.... did i miss it? |
Re: Chrysler contingency
I had heard yes from the Mopar performance guys Evan and Rich, not so high up on the food chain, and in the end not their decision, but they said yes on the Normal stuff, apparently NO on the DP Specific program....
