Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Hemi I suppose but dare I dream.......a SS Max wedge car?

Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
What a beautiful car and the detail work is unbelieveable. I guess most people would consider this to be the value of their 401K. The car would be a badd a** Max Wedge but probably is a Hemi.

Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Always loved the old 60'S cars!
Great restoration! Can't wait to see some action shots! |
Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
When the car hits the strip for the first time it will be a SS/JA with a 383.
Then the HEMI |
Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Man thats nice!! Will it keep the steel front end with the Hemi??
|
Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
NHRA Single 4 barrel Hemi has a steel front end

Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
This is one beautiful car that you HAVE to see to believe! It will no doubt be a "Best Engineered" car very soon. Tim did my very first roll cage and will always do my chassis work! Tell Carl my son Shane weighs 130 lbs and is licensed for 8 second cars! Jim

Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Hey Jim thanks for the kind words. I will tell Carl about Shane.
Carl says that he is gonna drive this one. |
Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
About 12 yrs ago during a phone conversation Carl told me the story in detail on how he set out on the "B" Camaro project with the goal of beating the Hemis. After plenty of $$, hours, and energy, he met his goal and decided he had enough. Now that he's building what he set out to beat in the first place he's proven that true drag racers never quit...they only take vacations LOL!!!;)
This is one REALLY NICE PIECE!!! Can't wait to see him behind the wheel again!!! |
Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Looks like another BEST ENGINEERED car for Takash Racecraft..Should get a BEST APPEARING also.

Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Tim, Carl's way too old to drive that piece! He will soil his pants!
Jim 'Tree, the motor is a 383 - 343hp 2 carb unit. It will run SS/JA. Then comes the HEMI! Oh Baby! Jim |
Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
I heard a NC CHEBBY racer could be doing the motor.

Just drove it out of the shop for the first time. Next is the doors, fenders hood and deck lid. |
Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Paul & Jim ! For him to run the 2-4bbl, 383 he would have to run in SS/GT ! I Believe ............John

Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Beautiful car/nicely built-too bad it's an automatic :(
|
Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
My mistake! It is a single four barrel 383. Sorry. But here's a scoop for ya.......I heard it's gunna be painted RED! Jim

Re: NEW 1964 Savoy pictures
Best Engineered, Best Appearing and why not enter a few car shows while you're at it? Still trying to find something that isn't painted or polished. I'd love to see this raced without lettering, graphics or decals.
