In-Car Camera

There was a thread not too long ago with a link to a pretty cool, small, roll cage mounted, video camera that was pretty inexpensive, but I lost the link and can't find the thread. Go figure. Does anyone remember the thread I'm talking about?

Thanks in advance.

This is the link we posted to where we bought ours a couple of months ago.

We've put a couple of youtube videos up to show the quality of the recording. It is the GoPro camera. Light, easy to use and the mounts and camera enclosure is pretty cool. I haven't had the nerve to use the suction cup on the outside of the car yet but they say it can do it.

Check out the link to this new camera below. They had one on a go cart at the PRI show and the video was awesome, the price isn't too bad either.

Gopro.com I own both the 149$ motorsports one and the new HD version. Both shoot exceptional video, sound, not too bad. Don't care for the roll bar mount, I do it off the dash mount.

FYI ...Another source for GoPro cameras is any auto parts store / engine / speed shop who buys from Keystone Automotive ...they warehouse them

Just bought the latest HD one at the PRI SHOW and they said the suction cup will stick up to 135 mph. Also bought the roll bar mount at the show. They sold a ton of them at the show.

I thank you, gentlemen, for all of the camera tips. Now to decide on which one to go with. HD, however, is the only way to go!!

Much appreciated,

Re: In-Car Camera

I have a question about these Go pro cameras...do the make a remote activation switch ? once its mounted in the car my drivers can't reach it to turn it on...and Im busy with multiple cars in the lanes. dont have time to run up open a door and push the button. if theres a way to activate it like a data logger then it would be a dream! any advice??

I saw this one introduced in the fall and have been wanting to buy it. It has 170 deg lens, built in screen and a remote.
