Three of my guesses were wrong. One last try.Connerly orScotty Richardson.

I'm going to guess Jeff Hefler. Something just makes me think that. FYI Jeff is now the track manager at Texas Raceway. Maybe the locals will actually be able to win a couple races without Jeff being in the other lane.

That's my guess too, judging from the entry list.

If his driver is a former WC or past event winner he can enter before the entries close.
Keep that in mind.

Yes, I think you're right. For some reason I was thinking that the driver was going to go to all 23 races and didn't think Jeff would be able to take that many weekends off from the track. Since it's just for the first part of the season, looks like Jeff is the man.

I'd say that's a good guess. Maybe not correct, but a good educated guess. It'd be a wise choice on the part of the owners as well.

Re: Drooze Driver Prediction Contest

Rofl...Im not real sure John if she meant me or him....never can be with her.....I learned that 18 years ago, one night she didnt want me going out with some friends and put like 10 sleeping pills in my beer, when I got to the bottom I was like whats all this gritty **** ?

THEN , She was PISSED at ME that it Didnt work......made me a little drowsy and I slept like a baby after I got home but other than that nada.

Nutty woman.....

Evil wears a pretty womans costume.....(and owns the SCARRIEST lot of animals youve every seen, including a rabbit that LIKES lunch meat, who ever heard of a carnivore Rabbit ? that thing makes me nervous.........)

Even tempered ? Ha, I think she may have read that in a book somewhere.

But we still get along, she may be coming to Pomona or Gainesville depending on school schedule.

Im bringing her as a backup wrench and the Rabbit to handle John Irving.....:D

Re: Drooze Driver Prediction Contest

Keith Lynch was my first guess too....but someone made a referance to a "Big Al" so I have been trying to think of someone named Al that was a former champ....I don't think Al Corda was ever WC. He did race Mopars in his early days.

And I quote National Dragster, Feb.28, 2003:

From 1971 though 1999, Corda won 12 national event titles and a pair of national championships, all of them behind the wheel of a Mopar-bodied race car.

Hello Al! Jim

I think it will be Al Corda. He has been known to run allot at the begining of the season before his track opens.

Rick

Well, I hope so. We ran off Scotty,Edmond, and Luke
Still trying to get rid of the two "J,s"

Re: Drooze Driver Prediction Contest

Ok so Al Corda was WC and more than once.......He raced in this area many years ago. I recall seeing a Mopar convertible at Maple Grove way back in the old days. His name was lettered very large on the side of the car....I think that was a SS'er.....I knew he won Indy and maybe a couple times but couldn't recall if he won the WC title.......

How about one of the motorcycle pro stock champs? Alderman too would be interesting.

It is Don Prudhome, he just retired so he could get into Super Stock, him and his buddies, Don and Jeg are in stock, so it was a natural fit to go SS.

Re: Drooze Driver Prediction Contest

I only wish, I always thought he was a "Cool Cat" when I was young he let me sit in his car at the track, any guy like that was always Ok in my book, but when he asked me what about the Drag Races I liked best and I said "DRAGSTERS" he shook his head .... CMON I was 7 ! My mom and dad just rolled their eyes.....lol..

That doesn't mean he has to tech in with the Corvette. Just like Hefler doesn't have to tech in with the Impala. My thinking was this would be a good way for Al to drive two cars again. He could enter super stock as a former world champ and drive the DP in stock.

But drooze has assured me that it's not Al. I doubt he has ever BS'd anyone before.

Spoke to Drooze and the short list contains:

1)Speed Racer
2)Barney Oldfield or Barney Rubble, not sure which he said
3)Elmer Fudd

That's all he would commit to.
