The Return of Ron Ortiz, a true story.

Two years ago due to financial reasons I was sidelined from racing. Being a property appraiser our work load diminished tremendously as the housing market tumbled. The result was no racing, especially with the motorhomes fuel economy being so sucky.

My other business, Southern Snacks also was hit hard by the economy. Beef prices went up and free shipping was eliminated. Air freight from Oregon to Florida can get up there. The minimum order requirements from Jerky Hut put us out as far a jerky went.

Daran Summerton took me and my car to Belle Rose last year and it was great. I also borrowed my brother in laws pick up to get to the SSSSA race in Lakeland last year. But that was it for more than two years. It was killing me.

Well, things have turned around and we are coming back.

The Imperial Palace (motorhome) is up and running again.

The race car is getting new front end suspension components. As Captain Jack pointed out to me in the pits while looking at the front of the wagon, "which way is your car going"
Also got new coated headers as my experiment with swiss cheese headers was'nt as effective as thought. Hope that I can recover the 3 tenths gift.

My new son in law, Sean will be at the races with me also. Nice guy, great BBQ cooker, hard worker, coaches football with me, also a lady killer. Thats why my daughter trusts him, he's with me.

And, we are back in the jerky business after some negotiations and beef price adjustments. That killer jerky you all like is available again.

But the best part is I am really looking foward to seeing all you people again and racing. You all are so much fun. My first race will be Bradenton, followed by Gainesville, Orlando, and hopefully the Gators (grade points). Stop on by the Imperial Palace for some jerky and fun. I can't wait, I'm excited.

Welcome back Ron -- great that business is back again for you -- wish I could say the same . And forget about Don -- the next time I'm in Florida I'll be sure to have some Rolling Rock that I'll trade for some of the Jerky treats ..........................

Ron, always a pleasure to have you back. Maybe it's time for another U/SA shootout at No Problem. On another note I went to get a physical for SS today, and I while I was talking to my doctor (who is 20 years younger than me, but so is everyone else) told me in the last 2 weeks several companies had been sending in employment physical people who had been out of the market for over a year. So that is good news. Bring more people back . Who Dat

Thank you for the responses. Hey Biggg, why are you always saying hi to my wife but not me?

FED387 sent you a reply, call me.

Kenny, me too.

The Don....... Rolling Rock....... OK........ glad that you are back.
Imperial Palace hours are AM to PM and back to AM, repeat.

Jack, when you are in Florida again, the deal is on.

Jim, cooking lessons are now coordinated with drinking hours, only at the Imperial Palace.

Jeff, I would love to attend another U/SA Shootout at No Problem. But with the expenditures for the first 4 races in a row, Belle Rose might be a little difficult. But, if we do well at those four, who knows.
Answer to question............either Peyton or Drew, Dat Who

Ah the elusive Ron Ortiz! Look fellow racers as nice as it would be for Ron Ortiz to be real he is just another "figment" like the Easter Bunny, Bigfoot and UFOs. Everybody knows somebody that has seen it and maybe even has a couple of blurry pics of something but it's not real.
I've personally tried to prove that the Ron Ortiz is real even spending time in hot, sticky, bug ridden fields of bamboo waiting for the Ron Ortiz to appear but it never did. I've even tried baiting it with assorted 273 parts.
Finally, driven crazy from hunger and thirst I was preparing for the end when suddenly a nice lady came bursting out of the house and gave me a beer and some BBQ wings.
No, there is no Ron Ortiz.

If anyone wants the TRUE story of the Belle Rose trip well .... I'm not saying! It was a weird time in my life but Ron straightened me right out. I don't run U automatics anymore. See ya' at Immokalle Dad debuts his new F/SA Watch Out it may get away from him.

Welcome back, Ron! Hope things continue to flourish for you. BTW, for you doubters, Ron does exist. Had the fortune, or misfortune (lol) to have a few beers with him at the bar at No Problem!!! Probably don't remember though, right Ron? Take care!

Re: The Return of Ron Ortiz, a true story.

There is a bar at No Problem? I never knew about that. I have, however, had a beer with Ron on many occasions. I have had a beer with almost everyone on this channel at one time or another. That's my story and Bigg will swear to it.

Leave the Don alone.I have it from reliable sources that he's been on the Slim Fast diet.
Me and Billy are bring weight with us to the Gators so he makes it clean past the scales.

I remember seeing that station wagon at Belle Rose! In fact I watched that gray tailgate most of the way down the track in the U/SA class final.

Ron Ortiz 01-28-2010 09:52 PM

Re: The Return of Ron Ortiz, a true story.

A quote from my real good best buddy friend, Billy Nees.
"Look fellow racers as nice as it would be for Ron Ortiz to be real he is just another "figment" like the Easter Bunny, Bigfoot and UFOs."

Billy, what do you mean there is no Easter Bunny. I'm still finding eggs in places that I never thought of.
Bigfoot, c'mon, a big furry creature that no one ever gets on clear film, no doubt that it's made up, I'll agree with you there.
But.................UFO's, now there I know what I'm talking about. But as you know, thats another story.

Captain, I would be honored to participate in the disposal of your personal name brand of spirits and several beers to boot.

Blingmaster, "The Don" has changed his lifestyle. Now that he has returned to drinking beer, his figure will improve dramatically. His appearance now is that of a thinner individual. Could it be due to the fact that he has gone from a full bodied Gran Prix to a smaller Pontiac. But, lest we not forget, he is "The Don" with friends in low places. Hi Ed.

Jeff, if Biggg swears to it , I believe it.

Joe, I do remember, you'll have to stop by the Imperial Palace and we'll have some more beers.

And to those who have stepped up and said that I do exist, thank you, I do exist, just in a different dimension for you to see. And yes they doctored that photo from Larry Hill.

Thanks everyone.

Ron Ortiz
U/SA There's a bar at Belle Rose!!!!

Re: The Return of Ron Ortiz, a true story.

Has anybody noticed a pattern starting here? All of the pictures and sightings seem to take place in the Louisiana swamp! You guys are obviously hanging out with "Swamp Thing" and he's just telling you that he's Ron Ortiz to grub a few beers.

Hey Ron,
Glad to see you coming out. Hope to see you in Belle Rose this year as I'll be there all 4 days. Hope to get some more good pics of the wild, beautiful paintjob of yours. Good luck in U/SA this year. Look forward to seeing you soon at the strip...oh and I got some cajun seasoning for you to when you get back down here!!! :)
