very cool!
http://www.stangtv.com/forum/followi...jet-6381.html# We're anticipating many of these cars will hit the track early this year and don't be surprised if one dips into the 8 second zone. Impressive considering its a turn-key Ford Factory built car. |
Re: check out this cobra jet build up
Being a Mopar Hemi lover, I believe this car is one hell-of- a deal !
I don"t know if the Drag Pack Challenger is anywhere as complete as this, but!!!! The price is not all that bad considering what you get ! John |

Re: check out this cobra jet build up
AC, awesome link, thank you....I see the 2010 model CJ is being equipped w/a 10.5" or a 11" rear tire (Hoosier). Did the '08 cars come w/a 9" (Goodyear) tire, or ??? Thanks. WJ

Re: check out this cobra jet build up
It's got nothing to do with factory - it has to do with Roush Racing.

Re: check out this cobra jet build up
These cars are built in flat rock MI at fords by ford workers not Roush racing Andy. Last time I looked you had to buy them through ford motor co not Roush.
|
Re: check out this cobra jet build up
As far I know Roush has an old kmart store they converted over to build the cars. They are delivered throw ford dealers as far as I know.
|
Re: check out this cobra jet build up
They are built by Ford. Roush has nothing to do with them this time around. You had to order them through a Ford Dealer & pay Ford Motor Company. PB Candies

Re: check out this cobra jet build up
Its a Ford Assembly at the Flatrock plant.....AutoAlliance.....where the other mustangs are built....that's where the pictures were taken....the UAW is assembling them.
incredible job..... Rock Haas |
Re: check out this cobra jet build up
OK, I'm a died in the wool Ford guy, and bleed blue when cut, but a "C2" transmission...????? That transmission being attached to the engine is a Powerglide if I ever saw one!
I wonder, if Ford has adopted the 'glide as its own, and designated it a C2, can it now be used in older stockers and super stockers? Interesting development. |
Re: check out this cobra jet build up
Ford did have a Glide of it's own it was called a Fordomatic, came out in 1959 was around a few years 2-speed real pile of Sh--! My dad had a new 1959 Custom 300 with a 292 Check out Ford History

Re: check out this cobra jet build up
The CJ's are all engineered by Ford Racing employees and built on a niche assembly line at the Auto Alliance Plant in Flat Rock, Michigan. The workers are hand picked UAW Mustang line workers. Watson Engineering does the roll cage and body reinforcement points before the cars go down the plant paint line. I think in this day and age it's pretty cool that Ford can do this operation in their own assembly plant! Thank GOD for the people that are managing FOMOCO.
