NHRA Live Timing

Is that cool or what? I love being able to sit at my desk (work, ugh!) and see the run incrementals come up! What a neat feature!

Re: NHRA Live Timing

I agree, that feature is awesome. Sure does put a lot of pressure on your reaction time though, knowing the whole world knows it instantly before you!

I have tried to get that to work, but my work computer doesn't like it.
Just a question, does anyone else find Dragracecentral really slow and far behind the action today?

Seems interesting that all the Stockers are faster than 13 seconds. You would think in this economy, the slower cars would be more prevalent. Especially like some of the V/S guys that go way under the index.

Re: NHRA Live Timing

That is cool...you can actually look back at the archived round of superstock and see each run since Drag central doesn't have super stock up yet.

Jeff, There never were a lot of "slower" cars in Div 7.
Most seem to be in Div's 1, 2 and 3 . I 'm not sure why that is.
Also , not being a class race, that kept at least one of them away.

I guess that make sense. Why is it that only certain races are class races, and how do they decide? I couldn't make it with my new car, because I have no grade points, but maybe next year.

Several different factors;

Size of the venue

Local curfews and time considerations

Not enough money posted to spread around (Probably factor no. 1 )

Re: NHRA Live Timing

Pretty sad that Pomona is not a big enough venue, since it's local for me. :(

I wouldn't think so ! Not with the large "MOTOROLA Live Timing Beta" at the top of the "Live Timing" page !
I'm thinking it's a deal between NHRA & Bob Brockmeyer/CompuLink and the reason
I-Card got squashed. They got Motorola involved to sell more Motorola phones....$$$$

before everyone goes out and buys a I phone to view the data if it works
The data is DELAYED for a reason, The reaction times are not instant !
so don't think you can put it in the car with ya......lol.

On Saturday afternoon we got on it, but it didnt seem to update correctly. A friend has the Droid and NHRA app. He likes it. I have a Samsung Omnia with wireless and windows mobile 6.1. They dont make an app for it according to the compatibility list ????

It doesn't seem to be working for me either. I can view previous runs, but the "live" timing is not working.
