Commerce Update

Painter is already in line and reports, there is no snow on the ground and also that the NHRA registration trailer is already inside, so looks like we will be racing in Commerce this week-end!:)

Jack I just dropped the trailer off at the track. I was up in Cummings Ga at Vengence Racing. I got some time on their chassis dyno. To straighted out the fuel map. They have a bunch of your type cars there. My little Neon was all alone not another Mopar.
I don't know how the weather was by the track but up there it was cold as a witches teat, a lot of snow still on the ground. I though I was back up north LOL.

Artie -- Our snow is almost gone thanks .Your little Neon may be all alone at the moment but will soon be joined by some of its "big brothers" and will fit right in .As for my type of cars I'm really not sure lately what they are .........................

Thanks

I don't know the schedule at all. A few cars went down. Dusty Lowell 11.07 Brenda Grubbs 10.51 Drooze 11.38 Peter Biondo 10.51. There seem to be traction for the stockers. The time are from memory, i think they are right or at least pretty close

Thanks Bob.That wrap is very labor intensive. But I guess it's good as far as protecting the paint. And if you sell it you just strip it off and you have a new white palate for the new owner to start all over.

Hey now.....140 on my old keyboard, about 60 on this mini laptop

We started first pass at 11.8 that was VERY fat on AFR and 6500 shift points

Next run was 6800 shift points and a leaner AFR still very very very fat but 1 tick incrementally lower than before.

Next run was 7k shift points next 72,

Last one 7500 (going to 8 k) but my dumb *** hadnt changed the rev limiter and I had it set to guess what 7500....I was skpping the limiter in 1 and 2nd Im happy it actually shifted and I didnt go down the track in 1st gear

But that pass was 10.87 , every pass was about 2.3 tenths faster with each tune.

IF what we have planned for checks out were all good and on to the next....all went according to plans. Just like every other day with us, not enough time, we didnt run our first pass till after 2.

Now we are checking egts, AFR and logs big time on every pass. (since our valve tap and other mishap)

I had PLANNED to get 6 passes and to 10.5 today, I only got 4 passes though. So only got down to 10.8

The old man will be driving tommorow and this weekend we think...So Ill throw the next tune on it of the 4 more we had planned

It looks from data like its got another second in it, and thats almost exactly what we expected out of this cam and headers around 9.8 when dialed in.

Our AFR on final run was 11.2 .... yes really....and that was MY choice to ru it in this way and collect data and incrementals, it will take 10 total passes to get the info I want and get the car zerod to the "break in case of zombie attack" drive like hell nuclear option tune.....

The only single thing I have any regrets or dissapointments of is I only got 4 passes, we had planned on 6 but it took longer in the trailer to get our liscences and all paperwork squared away (but now I liscenced and so is the old man :) See the little blue "temporary" lol....(well other than stepping on the limiter like a moron)

Im never gonna live the 8 second comment down here until someone goes 8.99 with one of these....Oh well....if I can be of entertainment value then at least I have SOME value.

Here is another few pics to enjoy, when you see the old man youll have no doubts as to my sense or lack of humor....(the pic was his idea I didnt even kn ow he did it till 5 minutes ago.....thats Pop...)

The track today was a wonderfull time....got to meet some GREAT people, truly great.

Oddly I got to meet someone who I have wondered who he was for a long time, "Dusty Lowell" he was a follower on the blog since the beginning and I parked behind him in staging and he told me hed been following us...that was neat.

Also met a great bunch of others some Ive chatted with here and on the phone,

Great day.....

Still havent got the trailer re-orgainzed but, good day.

Thanks everyone who has helped with their knowledge and advice.

To the ballbreakers, thank you as well....you keep me going :D

Thanks to Stewart Way and Art Leong for their help with "the drill"

And to Bill Holt for squaring away our screwed up last minute paperwork.

Great day !

Lol...I have no doubt thats true.

I guess ballbreakers wasnt the right word, you have never said anything with "nastiness" and not many have. "Disbelievers" or people who question my motives, sincerity, or honesty that a different game. Like I said those are far and few between, but people who are openly nasty to someone well, my guess is Im not the only one they are that way to.

The rest I will have to prove to over time and in person, not a "Ill show you" attitude, but "show" in a positive sense, it wont happen today, but 9s are next....then back to the 10s with the 5.7. 9s may take another T&T day, Im sure they will but the cars got it in her no doubt. At that point on to my next projects and Ive got 3 on the slate. I REALLY dig Arts car, and am thinking a 4 popper is something I would enjoy more from a motor perspective.

If you cant bust a little chops and have fun I mean....Ive got a thick skin and I can (and do) laugh at myself with the best of em.

But no doubts when a racer is in need all the stand up guys are there.

Thanks Rich...(and you dont bust chops any harder than I listen to 14 hrs a day from the old man...lol)

Its been a great experince I wouldnt change 1 item in this Adventure....not 1...(ok maybe loosing all the skin with a grinder on my knucke that took 3 weeks before I couldnt see the tendon but hey at least I know my first aid and wound dressing are top notch, ooouuucccchh)

Your car looks Great. The Best of Luck to You This Year.

As you i will be a newcomer to Stock Elim. this year, after a 30 year lay-off
from driving.

I was just wondering if the wrap you put on your car is costly ????
Or is it just as much as a nice paint job....

I posted this over at Moparts......

For Frrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee
(Doing my best Adam Sandler impersonation)

Wraps are becoming competitive.

There is a REASON GatorWraps has a much real estate on our car as they do.

Originally it was to be wrapped at Pomona, but we busted going there.

But our Title sponsor picked up the rest of the cost.....

Call a bunch of wrap companies tell them where and how you will be competing, out of the 3 I called all 3 would do it under cost for real estate (under 1500)

Racing wraps have BIG market potential for these companies, and most of the companies are smaller and trying to make a name for themselves in performace/racing application

GatorWraps.com for example.

So, for us even IF we had to cover the full cost of $1500 (thats about the "at cost" price) but only 1 had a good graphics guy (GatorWraps)

The only reason I picked GatorWraps was they were out of Pomona and Vegas so they had installers in that area.

Id call around and "pitch" them, explaining, Sportsman racers are just starting to see the value in wraps, in your local area you will be seen at the track often, use us as an example of how they can promote the wrapping and the exposure....see if they would do it "at cost" if they get say a 14x24 spot somewhere, like I said 2 companies I called out of the blue were all game. 1 was in Ohio and the other we ended up using.

I like it because like others have mentioned, time to sell, bored of the look......rrrrriiiiiippppppp, start over. THAT I like, I have a short attention span.....what was I talking about..? Oh nevermind:D

Re: Commerce Update

Im "thinking" there will be at least 1 record today possibly (no not us, unless you count the first Official NHRA reprimand for "Delay of Game" for me running a 26 second pass in the Pacifica for a GP, and no they didnt reprimand me Im kidding)

But cars seem to be running good (ceptin us) and people are very happy and seeming guarded about Gainesville and teardowns, etc....

Air 59deg....29.4 inch, 11% outta my weather....
