Onward and Westward
 

Ok......things are well in Wertman land (for the moment) We WILL be heading west, depending tommorow on how thing look we MAY still even be able to make Houston, BUT I dont think its prudent (not to Go well go and Mandie and I (and my dad when he gets in) will enjoy the race, gain some knowledge and generally hang out.

Testing, well thats where I want to make sure we "do it right" Where, out westish, either on our Journey or along the way before Vegas might we able to get a couple days in ?

Even if it means not hanging out a Houston thats ok....Id rather be testing that testing other people nerves at Houston by sitting in a lawn chair watching Mandie get a suntan :eek::D:eek:

But....well any "en route" testing locations / facilities that pop to mind ?

Chris. If it were my dime, and I wanted to in "Killer mode" when I get to next national or divisional meet, I would take the time to test at Dragway 42 and National Trail this week and next week. From their I would go directly to Indy for the Div points meet, which starts on Friday 4/23, and probably has a test and tune day on Thursday 4/22. I think that the next national meet is the hext week at St. Louis, If you are determined to go to Vegas, fly out, take this weekend off, blow the money on the tables that you would spend on the road expenses....And then test next week and go to Indy. Thin you will want the Indy Points for later in the year. But that is just me. And I don't know a whole lot as I am now a "class racer in remission". Myron Stutes Was NHRA 3195 N/S Stick, L/S stick,. drooze, their is a NHRA Open this weekend at St. Louis, Mo. hi`s 60 on friday [test $20] and sat. 70`s on sunday , track is fast, some of the cars that ran their last year had their best runs of the year. Tom

Chris theres and open race at atco this weekend also. They have a T-T on thursday.

You could do any of the above or just come to the NHRA National Open this week at Atco , NJ -- test and tune Thursday run by the track along with NHRA National Record runs then race on Friday , Saturday and Sunday before you head West .

I wanna go WEST....lol.....Actually the old man already made plans to fly into Houston on Saturday so he could rent a car and make a couple hr trip and meet us....that was the "thinking"

There is test/tune Friday in Vegas, Test/tune plus Stock/Superstock Combo testing plus brackets Saturday. I believe also Test/tune Thursday ( Check ). As always your welcome to use our shop and equipment! Everybody out here is anxious to meet you You could get in 3 days testing Also Sunday bracket time trial and S/SS eliminations plus Thursday does have Test/Tune I believe. Checked today NOT hursday testtune....track said they are not allowed to have test/tune for 10 days prior to Nat'ls unless part of another booked program...News to me.

Hmmmm....that wouldnt be bad but I dont think Id get there till Saturday....and dead tired at that.

Its an option, the old man probably wouldnt mind staying there in Vegas, hes cleaning up at the tables.

AND I forgot I owe you and yours dinner.

Well see....Id love to be able to get that far West by Friday....

Well, Im "shooting" for St. Louis....but well...If I cant test on Friday, Im not running.

I NEED to redial fuel etc for the 5.7 and exhaust changes. Im not going to
go out and blow this thing up without a couple passes under it (well maybe itll blow up then but at least Ill have those couple more passes to help our morale and averages)

So is there any Testing Saturday AND/OR Sunday anwhere withing a couple hrs of St Louis ?

OR On a trek further westward ? (or even before) ?

I thought about hitting local, but If I dont get out of Ohio I never will......

Better for me to go far and break :eek::D:eek:

But seriouslt my "triptik" will take me southwest to st lois then across to Vegas,

Any Midweek testing on the "trek" ?

Anyone feel like a Caravan Roadtrip Westward ?

The test and tune Friday night starts at 6 pm and runs till 9 pm. It is usually light in attendance. You can get some laps in without a problem. The weather looks good so far. Even cold, the track does well. Lots of inexpensive hotels in Colinsville, etc. not far from the track. Your best bet. The open is a Stock Superstock combo.

Thanks I just saw that, even if me and Mandie have to drive all day we should be good......assuming our car starts tommorow :D

And itll be good for another GP......

West of there between there and Vegas anyone know of any T&T during the week should we find things we want to change up and test ?

Well....it looks like were heading west for testing, we will make St' Louis but in the early afternoon unless I can push it all night , and then Ill be dead on my feet, were starting to pack/load.

Shes almost back together.

But if we leave here at 10, I wont get in till 8-9 am even if I drive without sleep , and I only got 5 last night so....probably not a good idea.

NOW that being said any T&T on Sunday on the Way to Vegas Land ? Or during the Early Week ?

Ill probably Stop in St Louis to meet some of you and watch some runs, but then back to the road.

Mandie is chomping at the bit to get going, so am I ......

BUT we need testing, AND I need a good source in Vegas to rent a white Pheonix suit (ala Elvis) Any suggestions ? On the track I just got a call and Ive got a line on the Pheonix suit.......:eek:
