National Open at Gateway
Anyone know who won? It was Jamie Greening vs. JEremy Duncan in the final.
Duncan is tough, but Jamie and their SSTA truck were on all day. Pretty nice race weather all weekend. One record set. Randall set a P/SA record in tim Quigley's old P/Stick Biscayne. Ken Hall went Stickshift with Eric Cabrel's old M/Stick car and looked like he was having a blast. Donnie Beeler broke the left axle at the hit. I had that on video. Looked double ugly, but he didn't hit anything. Jim Hanlon had his "new" HSA 85 Camaro he just got from Morgan's out. I saw the Witch Doctor go through tech, but no runs made. I will try to get some pics and video going. I saw Alex Owens taking some shots. He is probably the best photog in his age bracket for class cars. Maybe we will see some of his posted also. JIm |

Re: National Open at Gateway
We had a great time, good to meet everyone.
I wish we wouldn't have had driveshaft problems. It sucked to win round 3 and not be able to make the call for round 4. Looking forward to the National event in a couple weeks! Timmy |

Re: National Open at Gateway
it shows both the Lund's with a 67 Camaro and a 69 Camaro in GT classes is this right, just trying to get stats right
|
Re: National Open at Gateway
They both were in their 3rd gen camaro's 1987 or so. I think the 67 & 69 camaro was the engine combo's.

Re: National Open at Gateway
The Witch Doctor had many problems getting to the track..... Transmission went out on one truck, headed for home only to get another truck, packed everything for a second time, made it half way only for THAT truck to not want to start. When it finally made it to the track...... Too late !!! No more Stock Qualifying passes. He was really looking forward to joining you guys but just couldn't seem to get there soon enough for some reason or another..... It only gets better !! After leaving the track, back to the halfway home mark, the guy driving the "borrowed" truck was treampled by 3 DEER !!! 1 in the door, 1 in the bumper and 1 tenderized by the trailer. So 1 for the Witch Doctor !!! They did make it home safely after all of that. What a first trip for the season that must have been. WOW !!!

Re: National Open at Gateway
Witch Doctor... that sounds like a wild bill andrews story for sure...maybe the indy points meet will be better, and he will set the NHRA Record in V/S
jack p.s. bill i sure hope your hunting license is current, hate to see you tagged a criminal for hunting deer without a license... by the way did ya bring em home & you got any deer steaks ? |
Re: National Open at Gateway
naw wasn't nothing left but jerkie! Sorry I won't be at Indy with the car. I will be working at the Fire Department Show at Lucas Stadium. Felt lucky just to get out with only a story. However the guy we got the truck from wasn't happy at all!
