Hey if any subscribers have not received their stats either find me at Norwalk (I'll have extra copies with me) or e-mail me and I'll get one off in the mail to you, as the US post office isn't the best company for sending my stuff out

We are putting things back together and hope to be at Norwalk. Once we get the Drag Pak engine back into the car, we still have to locate a tow vehicle as we havent had the time to rebuild the truck engine we blew in Virginia. But one way or another, begged, borrowed, or rented, we get hold a tow vehicle and make the race.

I heard Saturday was going to be cloudy, but no rain. I hope that holds up too. Hate to get rained out of two in a row after Indy.

And thanks Joe, I got my stats already..

Hey Caleb, have a good time at your prom! There will be lots of other races to go to.

I wish we were going to be "Live from Norwalk", but work keeps getting in the way of working on the car. Hopefully our first race back will be the Bowling Green Sportsnationals Memorial Day weekend. I just looked at the Beech Bend website and they are planning on being ready to run next weekend. I wish them well with getting everything all cleaned up.

Ya'll all have a good time at Norwalk and good luck to everyone.

David, will you be running a 5.7 combo if you make Norwalk, or are you going back to a 6.1 motor in the car? Regards. WJ

5.7 with a little more go we hope....I had certain things dialed back a bit (ok 2 a lot but shhhh) , intentionally till we saw how our bottom and coatings were gonna work, they were good, I didnt think they were but Im a bit paranoid that way.

Well see....we have 2 final changeups to try to squeeze the most out of the 5.7 we think we can. 1 will probably be at testing after Norwalk probably 42 the following Tue if the weather allows, and the other may be too at the same session if I can spin my wrenches fast enough. Or at Indy who knows.

Then well tear down and inspect, after Indy and lather rinse repeat.......yeah I know a stocker isnt meant to be tore down this often but hey I gotta learn and I rather see what is and what isnt working before it goes arwy and time I have.

Dad and Mandie have been monster helping this week with me having other responsibilities and dealing with my middle movment shrieks of pain from a back injury that is somewhat reminiscent of something from a 50's mental ward movie or someone with Tourettes syndrome. Chiro again tommorow....well see, I think theyre snakeoil salesmen but at this point , well I dont have much choice short of narcotics which make me puke and then I wont be able to drive and forget bolts and well all kinds of bad things will happen........ so for right now Im walking around periodically shrieking like a wounded hyena.

Where is Marlin Perkins to Narrate Video from the Shop when you need him......were starting a webcast next week of Day to Day at the shop if all goes well......

I can hear it now ......"Here is a drooze in his natural habitat, notice the carefully strewn but primitive tools, notice , AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAEEEEE.. ..that folks is the sound from a drooze injured by his sole purpose for life, a Dodge Drag Pak"............

I thought the screaming sound was me in the corner from the state of organization in the shop (more like lack thereof).

The discovery of the air ratchet and my pocket 'o treasures (sockets) really helped speed the removal of the truck's engine last week. That's my point of view though, perhaps I'm biased because it was my idea to keep all the sockets we needed in one convenient and nearby spot; my apron pocket. It was almost like magic every time I produced the right size socket. Really, you should've seen their eyes light up!

Here's to hoping we actually get to Norwalk in time and working order, and that next week I can maybe drive for my 1st time at 42! ;)

Also, Jimmy B, we're rooting for you to get there too!

Well for anyone who has seen our dissaray of sockets, tools, life or hell everything.....Im proud you didnt actually cry at the shop with our mess.....that took guts. Mike Tyson ....hell heda been in a corner crying like a baby.

Jimmy You better step **** up....you better be there, and you too Ryan....time to set the "Old Timers" on their ears........time for a regime change and not so many pricky people on CR........ask an honest question get a BS answer, half of em not racing class or ever will....simple questions simple answers seemed simple to me till I got here.... Or Im gonna have to figure out how to get done and loaded by 5 tommorow, drive me and Mandie down there and finish yer car up by 5 am......she did say shell bring one of her striped mini skirts and heels down if thatll motivate you......

Where you stayin Jimmy ? Were probably gonna camp and roast smores drink cheap beer and sleep on air matresses......

Its the Journey not the destination........on the destination its lost.........and forgotten.......

Im still trying to figure out my Oddessy ..... maybe Homer has some hints....

It's true, I have found that my skirts are very popular these days in the motivation arena. We can/will come put some fire under your butt. By our powers combined, we will make Norwalk! lol

I will be leaving somewhere between 1:30 and 3:00PM Tomorrow,That is if my Push Rods get here,I would leave earlier but I have a friend that doesn't get off work till 2:30 CST.He is going to try to get out of work earlier
I was going to do the air mattress deal but my friend is a little picky so MOTEL 6 hear we come.I will stop buy and Introduce myself , I will have a few cold Miller Lights if you get tired of that cheap beer.

Well try as we might, a bad back and now sick kids.....my kids take precedent.....maybe theyll be feeling better....but I dont see that happening. Unfortunatley no amount of motivational effort can change those things.....

Bah....I guess I need to work more on as Irv Johns called it "Practicing on Getting to the Track"

Oh well maybe there is a sunny side, what it is ? I cant even fathom maybe getting some things wrung out a little more thoroughly......42 Here we come...lol

I think this weekend is going to be spent turning wrenches and learning megasquirt. I am still trying to think of a name for the car that does not have "Rated R" content.

I wanted to name ours "Mother Jugs and Speed" after the classic movie of that title, My Father , Mother, Myself Speed, and well we lacked an appropriatley endowed female member of the team at the time.....

So youre not getting here either Ryan ? Or are you still coming ?

Re: Who is going to Norwalk?

Looks like a no go here... Had to take more off the head to clean up, and the chambers were about a cc too small. I was working on that problem, and came in to a cpl other little snags... And my main helper (RStahl) is tryin to get his own stocker together, so I have been a one man show.. And having his EVO apart, and the 2 stockers, our garage was mayhem. I might have to indulge in a bit of poker, some drinking, some music.. And a little bit of that R rated content Stahl was talking about, but Monday I will be back to working like everyday is the day before the race. Hope my blog will be up too.

I mentioned in another thread that im working with a videographer. One of my main goals with this is too promote sportsman dragracing. I am a lover of all dragracing, whether it be the nmca type stuff, or the pinks/unleashed stuff, but I love my NHRA Div 3 racing. Its what I grew up on. And nobody else is doing anything to bring exposure (read money) to our sport, so Im going to do what I can.. Including bringing some weird and frowned upon combos, and creating some things to talk about... Remember, all exposure is good exposure...

At any rate we may be coming up to Norwalk to get some footage Saturday..

Re: Who is going to Norwalk?

Just to let you know Jimi, the intake is about ready to go on, get fluids and hopefully I dont have a wonky crank wheel....but if it is were actually a go.

Mandie buzzed down and the old man has been monster

But according to the Div 3 Schedule there is a qualifying run and Tech on Saturday too ! That was our original goal for the restart of efforts but it looks like well make friday IF all goes well, which we know is about 70-30 around here.

Can you get her ready for Sat Jimmy ?

And youre right No Press is Bad Press, well have a Vid guy from the Lopez show there at Norwalk for some vid for something, "special" that is coming later this year.....Hell be there on Sat and a couple other stops around the country....

He was looking for an off shooting season project so......:D

I should get you in touch with him....and let you in on what were doin.

Never getting married again......never two failures at that enough....

Sibling ? Im an only Child, my father had me and said Oh ****, never again....

Just a friend.....:D And learning VERY quickly how to wrench.......WELL She could tear the car down and put it all back together by herself I do belive at this point.

Im thinking of putting her in my Challenger when its done, I suck at driving so.....and its not what I enjoy......but thats not gonna be a stocker. We plan to get her some seat time in the other Challenger next week.

Playing with Fittings today for the oil feed / return on the turbo. need to reroute the intake to turbo. and just bolt everything up really... then there is that whole megasquirt thing ha. Im not saying its impossible but i have learned early in my wrench turning days if it can go wrong it will.

Regardless ill will be up sat with or without car to fine tune the lost art of the frozen margarita. :D

Re: Who is going to Norwalk?

This afternoon, we were once again, pulling heads, and intake, and going through stuff thinking, we probably won't make it...then we got it back together, and it started, so we hit the road and we got in late too, so figured we would need to tech in tomorrow and wait until then to run...

But with Drooze, Mandie and me working like a white tornado, we go to the track, got teched in, and actually had a respectable run.

You never know what it will be when you are pushing for a race, but as Rosanna used to say on Saturnight Live, "It is always something...." So you just keep plugging, and you get there somethimes, don' get there others, and the rest get rained out.

If you get to Norwalk, stop by and say hello. We are parked in the green swamp with a lot of other cars, and ton of snowmobiles, and rails.
