Stop it ! ! Before you even go there a half-a-dozen others already got to me while walking over to get my parking credentials -- and the answer is the same - I didn't bring the rain along with me from Pennsylvania - but it is following me for some reason . It is to rain here later today but that's it for a few days -- promise -Scout's Honor - I'll swear to it -anything but get off my back .

After what should have been a short hour and a half ride here that turned into three hours because of traffic and rubbernecking I'm finally in Aisle 22 waiting to be pitted -- good thing the fridge is stocked 'cause we'll be at this all day .

If you're coming South today Raceway Gas on Route 18 has regular at $2.45 and diesel at $2.79--and if you need some Pub grub or an adut beverage RaceZone in E-town is the best.............later

12:30 update -- OK - get it out of your systems -- its raining as expected - but just a little ....

Hello Jack.

Can you tell me if you have seen Bob Mullaney there with Jim Harringtons Camaro Stocker? He is suppose to be running it there for a tribute to Shoe but, last I heard, they were having some problems with the cylinder heads. I sure hope they can get everything done for the weekend.

Thank you,

Good morning - today is not the day we've been waiting for but at least its not raining - plenty of overcast skies with temps in the high fifties - and then there is all this ugly fog hanging around but hopefully some will burn off in the next few hours .

Stock and S/S are set to get three runs today ( S/S will get two time trials then first round of class ) with Stock going off first at 10:15 this morning if we stay on schedule .

They just started one of their Jets so things are looking up - I'll be back a little later with some news of the day ............

Stock got out for their first Q pass -- no mineshaft here but decent - probably 5 to 7 hundreths better than the 'Grove two weeks ago- 73 degrees - 61% humidity - 29.78 barometer and a final DA of 1811' . Most I spoke with hooked well in both lanes ........S/S up soon ......sheets not out yet -- more then .
Dropped by the Hoosier Tire area and both Roy and Frank were glad to swap some tires around for me -- nice folks to do business with for sure .
Glad to see Raceway Parks own resident Ron working this weekend .And then their's fuel check ..........not many issues this morning thank you .

Bob Mullaney is driving the Shoe car this race............

Jack - you see anyone from DRC? - they're not posting yet. Live timing is showing names but no detail either - keep us posted

1 1587 AA/S Don Fezell, DuBois PA, '08 Mustang 9.411 10.60 -1.189
2 372 A/SA Jeg Coughlin, Delaware OH, '09 Challenger 10.019 11.00 -0.981

Wow! Never thought I would ever see a stocker go 9.41! Jeggie's Challenger is coming along nicely too.

Jack if you can find it there is a 71 Nova in GT/M on the entry list. Mike Papp is the name I think. Can you get a pic of it. 283 in a 71 Nova is interesting to say the least. Ed

Here's the deal -- no DRC -- can't find DRAW on the grounds -- we'll just have to wing it this weekend .Stock and S/S got their second shot in -- most slowed up three to five .

And how about Fezell ? 9.41 in a stocker ? How much is left ? These questions and more will be answered at this years Pennsylvania Dutch Classic --be there ! ! !

SuperStock class was just called to the lanes ............ BTW-- there must be a dozen SS/JA cars ...........

5pm update - we're on rain hold and I doubt very much we'll get going again as Raceway Park has a 6pm curfew -- I'm sure they'll call it a day ..............

S/S leftovers -- Believe or not with all the SS/JA cars entered the two that are left --Linke with his killer Corvette and that pesky 75 year young guy with his stocker in S/S trim -- Bobby Warren .The Wally will more than likely be awarded to Linke as he was faster in proir class eliminations -- good driving Bobby - maybe next time .

As usual fifteen minutes after they call the thing the Sun comes back out and makes everyone look stupid .............

Anyone know why Papp was DQ in his 71 Nova in SS?

Re: Live from Englishtown - NHRA Supernationals

Speaking of rain you all better hope the storms coming out of the west dont hit you Sat & Sun, we got over 8 inches in Tyler in less that 24 hrs.

W J 06-10-2010 07:06 PM

Re: Live from Englishtown - NHRA Supernationals

Weather forecasters are also changing previous fair weather forecasts to "iffy" for Sat.-Sun. here in New England as well.....Hopefully E-town will miss any washout weather....Looks like some great racing ahead, w/loaded fields....Best wishes to everyone running there. WJ

Re: Live from Englishtown - NHRA Supernationals

Good Morning -- In less than four hours Stock will go out for their first round and today looks like one that most Classracers would love - just looking out my window it looks fast - Sunny - blue skies with temps in the lo fifties at this moment with low humidity . I haven't checked my weather station yet but its 'gotta be good .

Interesting match-ups ----Szupka v Rampy Martel jr v Pires jr Santangelo v Iacono
Big handicaps ----Shaul A/SA v Fernandez T/SA -- yes Ed ,he will come by 35mph faster
Sansone D/SA v DiBartelemeo V/SA
Broadbent A/S v Briori T/SA
Heads-ups --- Bardecoff v Moran B/SA
Lynch v Quatraton H/SA
Boudreau v Welker B/SA
Barton v Letellier A/SA

Back a little later .........

We've been on race hold for more than three hours because of an accident involving a Top Alcohol Funny Car -- from what I've been told racing probably won't resume today but I'll keep you posted .........

Re: Live from Englishtown - NHRA Supernationals

I stand corrected -- they just announced that the Pro's will be out in one hour -- around 4pm -- starting with Pro Stock M/C .................Sportsman guys (and gals ) can fire up the bar-b-ques and break out the adult beverages .

How sad. I hope the report of him passing in inaccurate. These things cast such a dark shadow over the weekend and drag racing in general. His family is in our prayers regardless.

Yeah, there's nothing better than Jack, Kenny, Tom, and of course Patsy doing the "live from" thing, especially with pictures, when you're stuck at home. A big thanks to all of you, it makes it a little easier to suffer through sitting out a few at home.
