It's a nice day here at work...50 miles from the track......Feels pretty fast....

Looks like an A/FC went off the end of the track into the net - so no Public audiocast while they clean-up.

It's 1215 EST now.

Bad accident......Track will likely be shutdown for the day I believe....

I'm getting reports from the track that it is not good news. If that's the point the NJ State Police will shut down racing for the day and do an investigation. Like I said just reports I'm getting from the track it was Neal Parker from Millville, NJ

Announcer is saying they are fixing the net but he's been saying that for two hours - and there is not good news .........

Driver Killed In Crash At N.J. Raceway
Track Hosting NHRA SuperNationals

OLD BRIDGE, N.J. - A drag racing driver ran through a net at the end of a track and died of head injuries in a crash during a qualifying round at the NHRA SuperNationals at a New Jersey raceway Friday, state police said.

The driver, whose name has not been released, died of head injuries at Raceway Park in Old Bridge, N.J., Sgt. Stephen Jones said.

According to the organizer's website, Sportsman qualifying was under way at the time of the accident.

The incident comes nearly two years after top racer Scott Kalitta died when his Funny Car burst into flames and crashed at the end of the track in central New Jersey.

Kalitta's Toyota Solara was traveling at about 300 mph when it burst into flames.
