The baddest GTDA in the country!

My vote would be, Jerry Silveus. Do you agree or disagree, if not him, then who?

Did he compete in the class run-offs in Charlotte this year?

There are a number of very badddd cars in GT/BA to GT/FA who can move up/down in those classes and Silveus is certainly one of them but there are others and we'll see who shows up at Indy.

I guess we will not know the answer to this one until Indy. I don't think Jerry will stand still for another snookering as was Concord race. May the better horsepower factor win.

That was not the question I asked. I asked who has the fastest car, not who has won the most races. If the Hatari car shows up at Indy, he will get embarrassed by the results. Stay on track salty.

I'd throw Terry Pearson in the group too. He had quite the string #1 qualifiers earlier this year

I know for a fact, Silveus was in bracket mode when he ran the Hatari car, he was protecting is combo from getting hit, he will not hold back at Indy!

Does Silveus even know how to protect a combo? Just asking....inquiring minds want to know!

Is that a question "Cat got your tongue D. Tincher.," or a statement?

Why is it that when someone loses a heads up race their good motor was not in car or they were in bracket mode and protecting the combination? Wasn't there a money bet last year about the same class and does anyone remember the results?

Oh yea....I missed the tune up.

I do believe Jerry has the baddest D car. But from what I have seen there are more cars out there in D that look pretty fast, the Pontiacs not the only one to look out for, but my opinion is Jerrys the one to beat.

Interesting run...qualified #38, then picked up 3 tenths and several mph!

Re: The baddest GTDA in the country!

The Pontiac is fast. But everyone seems to leave out that it takes a aftermarket set of edelbrock alluminum heads to replace a set of factory cast iron heads to make a Pontiac run with a chevy, Im not trying to start a war just stating the facts. People cry about the L98 being under factored, but at least it still has OEM parts on it. I dont feel that the Pontiac will be as fast at Indy as it was at Concord with the Indy teardown involved, kinda hard to pick up 3 tenths there with out raising anyones attention.

I would like to hear from both of them, Jerry will probably not say anything, he is a low key kind of guy.

And Hatari isn't low key?

Re: The baddest GTDA in the country!

I think both cars are wicked fast. That matchup will be won on the tree at Indy, I bet. Jerry had a good light .027 but Peter is amazing .004. I wish I could have been there to see that one. I'm glad they lowered the indexes so we could see some of these battles again. Awesome matchup very

Also Dave, Phil and I will go back to cast iron heads; if you go back to cast iron crank and rods with stock bearing sizes.;) Everyone has advantages with OEM stuff including you. My engine still has OEM Block and crank. I was even told by your engine builder that most times the aluminun heads "are not worth the extra hp you get" fyi

Incidently, I was at Bischoff's when Phil's motor was being built. Phil went to great lengths to make sure it was very legal. Just in case that was the implication. Isn't Super Stock !!

Joe you do not think Jerry's run at Charlotte, was as fast as his car would go, do you?

Re: The baddest GTDA in the country!

Wheels up, I have no idea if he was all out that day but was Hatari all out that day or just enough to win? My point is that when some racers get beat they have tons of excuses.

If you are in eliminations with the new index's why hide it, he had room based on both racers et. I would love for everyone to race it b*lls to wall. When I get beat heads up the other guy was better that day unless its Jim Marshall who I can not nor can anyone run when he lets its lose. Willl another racer come up with another reason they did not win at Indy and say they were faster than Hatari and Jerry?

Fastest car on the same track same day in eliminations settles it.

Why would Jerry not run it out during eliminations? Did he have another .14 left before he was hit automatically? I have no clue......but he was flagged anyway for going -1.007 under.

By the by I never heard Jerry complain or make excuses, he is a great racer and tuner as are many others.

What class was Iacono in when this came up last year?

Stacey,
You guys need to get a set of cast heads going! Nothing but stock cranks and rod sizes here. I know what the difference is between the Edelbrock heads and the factory Pontiac heads, you not fooling anybody. The cast gm heads are better than the alluminum OEM gm heads I will agree with that. But the edelbrock and Pontiacs, thats different. Hats off to you guys for getting NHRA to do that for you, but you know its Bogus. Just because I said the Indy teardown thing why do you assume I am accusing anyone of cheating?? I was asked for my opinion so I gave it. And thats what it is my OPINION.. I dont expect you to like it. I still think JS has the Baddest D car....

I agree with Stefen.. The fords are going to kick all of our ***'s from GT/AA to FA anyway

It will not be all out during class. If a heads up during the eliminator happens you will get see who has what.

Not sure who you are, but I'm calling BS on this post, especially at Indy for example, I guess not winning SS/AH class doesn't mean anything to C. Wescott Jr. ?
