Looking for race car/ trailer insurance??
 

Any suggestions on who to get this insurance from? I assume it is all key off insurance? What is a fair price for a super stock car and 40 ft trailer? Are tools and spare parts covered? Is the trailer covered by the truck insurance or do I need a separate policy? Let me know, thanks!

My trailer is cover by my truck insurance, for just liability. I got a seperate policy on the trailer which I could chose to cover contents and for how much. As I've been told as long as the trailer is attached to tow vehicle the trailer is covered by the vehicle insurance for liabilty only, your results may vary.Joe

Got ours thru K&K .. They will insure car, tools, generator, tool boxes everything expect when the car is going down the racetrack..

Trailer insured through Nationwide. Truck insurance will only cover the other party if you hit something FYI.
Don't know about contents.

It will insure your car on track also.
It is a good deal,I believe it will pay
up to 100,000.00 on your car and
up to 50,000.00 on your competitors
car if you hit it.

I ran into a Hagerty Ins rep at Norwalk divisionals, and got a very nice deal on car and trailer... It was a good $600 less than I got through a "race car insurance company" previously. And they kept raising my rate though the 6 months I had their coverage.

Can't recall the agency name off hand, you can probably check with Hagerty as the agency is located in or near Norwalk/Sandusky Ohio. They are very nice people and they went the extra mile to get pictures and all required info before we even left the track. And had great follow up afterwards.

Great coverage, good service and a fair price... Hard to beat.

I can recommend Trailer Insurance with The Hartford. They’ve also got our home and cars. They do classic and antique cars, not sure about race cars though.

Call Don Kennedy for the race car insurance! By far the cheapest rates with the BEST coverage!!! Be very sure to ask all you inquire with when your car is covered! You'll be very surprised when it isn't with some of them. With Heacock Classic, the only time the car isn't covered is in the lanes and on the track!!!

As far as the trailer, check your auto insurance carrier. Mine is with State Farm.

We had a pit bike, 2 chargers and a portable generator taken when the trailer was broken into while it was parked outside of the shop. Easy to work with.

Like Bryan says, make sure you read all the fine print on what's covered ..... Get your agent to sign and date it ... I paid for the insurance for all most 10 years and never used it, three years ago, I back into some one in the pits at VMP and thought I was covered as I was told before ... Going down the track is the only place you aren't covered with this insurance, well when I needed it , it wasn't there ... I was told they had change the coverage to when you start the car at the track you aren't covered ... Needless to say I drop the insurance guy after ten years, Never made a claim .... He kept telling me I was covered on everything, at home, on the way to the track and at the track, in the Pits ... Don't trust them get it in writing and hold them to it ... Good Luck,

If you are relying on your tow vehicle insurance to cover your trailer. Make sure that it is covered IF IT COMES UNHOOKED FROM TOW VEHICLE. Both from liability side and collision/comprehensive side of coverages.

Dick Kincaid is a straight shooter and will explain exactly what happens in case of accidents, theft, etc. Can't go wrong there.
