Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
I bracket raced for many years but got burned out with all the tight racing that comes with electronics. So, I moved to class racing for the past 6 years. It's been fun but I find it too difficult without the aid of electronics. So, I'm going back to electronics racing. But this time, I'm going in with as many electronic aids as possible. Here are a few pictures of my new ride. Can anybody think of anything I might be missing?

Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
a flux capacitor and a "Mr. Fusion"
|
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
oh, and maybe a small nuke power plant.
|
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Thanks Chad. Check and check.
I decided to go with solar rather than nukes. Much greener. |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Heck, it looks just like the "Super Pro" (They call themselves that, I don't see anything Super or Pro about them) bracket racers out here every week.
They also quit at half track on a very nice 1/4 mile track. The "No E" guys run all the way to the finish line. |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Kevin,
You are missing a toll tag. |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Man if half of that stuff worked!?? Look out Super Pro Champ!! More Power Scotty!!!
|
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Looks like a lot of EFI cars I've seen. ...........Tom

Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Traction will no longer be an issue, nor will track prep. The 20KW Onan QuietPower in the trunk will resolve all of those problems. Both the rear axle and the wheelie bars have 8 lug floating hubs and G rated tires.
We were going to step up to a 25KW unit, but since there is no need for a hair dryer........................... |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
I thought that was a picture of your stocker.

It is. We had the cloaking device turned on this weekend, so you couldn't see all of the trick stuff in the staging lanes. |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
You guys laugh but I have run across some that looked about this bad in tech several years ago.....lol.

Kevin,
How many betteries does it take to power that rig? Or maybe you've got a 10,000 watt Generac in the trunk. JimR |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Hi- I think ya forgot the matter/anti-matter gockulater. Good luck.
|
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
No need for a driver, it is all wireless ... the racer sits in the stands and controls the car with a joy stick ... ... :-)

Two batteries, to start the car. For the rest, see post #9. |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Doug; wow! How basic is that.....I can't believe I forgot the gockulator! It's a good thing I can count on all you guys. That's why I started the post.
Actually Greg; it's not my stocker. Alan is just pulling your leg. You've got to watch guys like him. I start a completely serious thread like this and he tries to take it another direction. It's actually the interior of Scot Lamar's super stocker. He told me it's mine to race so.......... |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Alright already. It's time the truth came out. That's not really the stocker or Scot Lamar's car. That's all the navigation equipment in the Cobalt commuter car. How else do you think he gets to work?

Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Kevin
I'm glad you are going green, thats great. Did all of your equipment come from the Doc. Brown Supply Co. Hammer |

Boy Alan! That one could get you in trouble! Jim |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
If you can't win with that.....you just can't drive!

Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
An 1800 foot long power cord.?
|
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
I should be able to win with this on sheer "psych factor" alone!
Hmmm.....an 1800 ft power cord/bungee cord.....no need for brakes or a chute. Now we're on to something...... |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
You're missing three things. The infamous "Matty box", Mr Raymond behind the wheel andTop Fool as crew chief.
|
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
HURRY UP and find that loose ignition connection! They just announced you have 2 minutes to make it to staging for the final round of the winner-take-all 10 grander! :p

Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
You bring that thing to tech and """"" I QUIT """""""""...........

But who is the mystery driver in that picture leaning against the car?
Never mind, I just got the email. The crew is always the last to get the news. |

That's Kevin's new driver. Kevin hired him to replace Chris. I haven't met the guy yet, but supposedly the only thing he can't fix is one of those data acquisition boxes. Chris told me the guy was a killer engineer. |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
The remote control of the car can be pushed thru as a safety option. You cant get hurt if you are not in the car.

Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Looks like the only thing missing is the altimeter.
And he had better have one. Cause if he doesn't shut down quick and somehow hits the end of that 1800 foot extension cord........ he is going airborn... David The New Hemi Guy |

A guy I work with has a decent Mustang bracket car. Hate to admit it, he's good. When he descibes all the gadgets he has and all the prep he goes through to make it all work. Too much reliance on technobabble for me. What ever happened to just lighting the tires, a couple good dry hops, staging the car and running your race? Robert Swartz |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
I don't see the Easy button Kevin... Almost looks like that white Camaro a friend used to race with a push pull lever. You need to browse that JC Whitney catalog for a few more speed devises and a new hat and glasses for Alan. :)

That's all the secrets you're going to get. I'm not telling anyone about the tricks in the cigar. The hats come from Stetson, the glasses from Crossfire. You have friends? Who knew? :D |
Re: Too Difficult - Going back Electronics Racing
Ain't goin there with the hat and glasses!
Oh, I got friends and they got Big Busses to run my buns over every chance they get!. I get no respect I tell ya! |
