Jon Christensen Memorial Fund
 

Jon tragically died last night in a motorcycle accident near his home. He was a super guy and loved stock/super stock racing and the people involved. He was my brother-in-law and best friend. Please send your prayers for his family.

Wow that royally sucks. I only got to meet Jon a couple of times but he seemed to be a really nice guy. We had fun introducing our selves the first time seeing as we shared the same name (although different spelling)

I'm so sorry to hear that. I met Jon and family a couple years ago at a Combo race at Interstate Dragways, and had a good chance to talk to him during our pot luck fish fry.

From everyone at Sorokie Racing, you have my deepest sympathy.

Jon was as nicest man you could ever meet. Terrible, terrible deal!

I have testified against hands free devices for cell phones in the past, since I am in the communications business. I will gaurantee you when the next committee hearing involving the State of South Dakota legislature is held on banning texting while driving and a bill requiring hands free devices be used, I WILL be testfying in FAVOR of the bills. Enough of this nonsense of driving and fiddling with your cell phone.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident admitted he was distracted by his cell phone! Rest in peace, Jon.

I never knew him but I knew of him. My condolences to the family and something needs to be done about these drivers using cell phones and texting. I ride a Harley and I have to dodge the cell phone users AND the old old OLD people who should not be driving here in Florida. Its always sad to hear of losing a racer. We are all family !

Jon's wife called me this afternoon with the terrible news. i was in shock! i'm still shaken up. I've never met Jon face to face. We actually met thru this forum more that 5 years ago when he responded to an ad. for used Jerico gears. we've been trading parts and info ever since. not a month goes by where we didn't talk several times. i had been bugging him for a picture of his car to hang on my wall in the garage. i just recieved it about a month ago. it's a great bumper draggin' pic that hangs proudly on the "Wall of Fame". Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Christensen family. Jon you will be missed!

OMG I'm so sorry to hear this. When I crashed my car 3 years ago Jon sent me a hood for my car FREE of charge. He didn't even know me. That is all you need to know about what kind of a guy Jon was. This is awful. Rest in peace my friend. PSALM 23. Ed

I was suppose to race Jon first round Sat and he came over to tell me he broke his car and he was smiling then he told me,Jon wished me luck we talked some. He was such a good guy. I will always remember him. I never saw him with out a smile.

Visitation is at First Lutheran Church 411 N Duff Mitchell SD on Friday Sept 24 from 6pm to 8pm
funeral service at the same location Saturday
Sept 25 at 11am........please keep Janean and kids in your prayers......

Our sympathy to all of Jon's family. We've always enjoyed spending time with them, and have great memories of racing and socializing with Jon, Janean, Taylor & Cole, and the Lindeman family. They, and all of Jon & Janean's relatives, are in our prayers. We plan to come pay our respects and visit with family this weekend.
