Sorry, we are not there "live" reporting for you. Larry has not done anything to the car since we got back from Indy except unload it out of the trailer and park it in the garage. He is waiting to see what NHRA does about the new cars before he even sees what is wrong with it.

But Drag Race Central should be reporting on the race. They have the schedule up, but that is all so far.

Next week I will be at Bowling Green for the Mustang race. Oct. 8-10 I will be in St. Louis for the Nostaliga race. Besides running a few combo races I'm looking for a place to race. Right now I'm not spending any money on pistons, cams, rods, lifters, or dyno time. I am just checking out other sanctioning bodys.

Toby was right; I'm getting tired of a nice drive home!

Larry.....Don't give up yet. They are supposed to put the new junk into seperate class' for 2011 similar to the way IHRA has done it all this year. Stock wouldnt be stock without the "Pink Panther".

Larry, it looks like the new cars have taken their toll on stock at Columbus. Only 55 cars first qualifying pass.

Right...... and the car count had nothing to do with the economy, Obama's new rules and other events.......

The new cars singlehandedly killed stock... RIP NHRA stock..

You're not alone, Larry. I know of several racers who did not go to Indy and are not going to future races until NHRA fixes this disaster. Which they better. Bringing in 25-50 "new" cars to chase away/alienate a hundred or more old cars is not good buisness sense (cents).

P.S. I do a two day, two race S/SS event every year in Maryland in November that always draws well. Y'all need to make an end of the year road trip.

It is amazing that you can take a Stocker just go from 9.00 tire to 10.5 and be tis far under in Super Stock

9 3334 SS/JA Chris Holbrook, Livonia MI, '10 Cobra Jet 10.127 11.00 -0.873

35 3924 SS/FA Brian Wolfe, Willis MI, '10 Mustang 9.784 10.45 -0.666

BUT NOTHING IS OUT OF WACK!!!!!!

Chip,
Patsy & I would blend in so well with the beer and brats crowd that you wouldn't even notice us! We used to race IHRA top stock and had a lot of fun until the rules got bought! Most of the IHRA races are at least 400 miles away, but that may still be an option.

Mike,
The only thing I have left that is running is an old pick-up truck that will barely run the index! LOL

Greg,
You and I can think of 50 guys that should be there that aren't. By looking at past entry lists, you can see that people are mad and ain't gonna go racing when they don't have a chance.

You mean the truck that was #1 at Indy? lol. Besides, we still use the IHRA Indexes at our races. HT/SA 14.45; IT/SA 15.25 Index.

Larry,
I remember your bumper Draggin wheelie at the Rock a few years ago.

Lots of Kentucky racers make it over from time to time. I'm sure IHRA can find some red carpet for you. Why don't you try VMP in a couple weeks. Air will be good and the DP's and CJ's have their own class.

I would bet these two cars still have stocker motors in them. SS/JA is an 11 pound class which in stock is G/SA. 10.12 in G is not bad. 1.87 under. SS/FA is an 8.5 pound class which equates to B/SA. 1.46 under the B/SA index.

Re: results of columbus 9/24/25/26

To be fair, the Holbrook combo is rated 10 hp more in Stock than SS. So it'd have to carry an extra 110 in G/SA than it does in SS/JA.

My guess? It's probably still carrying the extra weight and, even if it isn't, that's still way too fast to be playing around with other G/SA cars.

Lets see;
+ Ported heads & Intake
+ SS Cams rockers
+ SS type oil pan
= another 80 to 100 HP???
Danny & Bruce WAKE UP even Ray Charles can see this one!!!!

Holbrook went 10.07 first round of class.

Chris You mean to tell us you spent thousand of dollars on the lastest trick of the week trans { protrans is about 6 grand} along with 5 thousand for good set of SS heads thats what it takes on most combos to go .80 under new 1.10 under old indexs?

Re: results of columbus 9/24/25/26

I do own my own engine shop and Joel's on joy did my trans.

Thanks for clearing that up Chris. I had thought those were legal stock motors.

Impressive performances nonetheless.

With legit HP rating and correct build's if Chrylser and Ford can have create motors with modern part's and not been installed in the cars off the assembly line then ALL makes should be able to have the crate motor! AMC, Buick, Pontiac, Chevy, why not Studabaker's with there SC motors. BTW I do have a good life your the one who seem bothered by it! So you can lay down by your dish. I haven't pick on you, your the who seems to have a problem!!! FEE FEE

I still think your life consists of bit*****. First you wanted the cars in super stock or some fx class. Well, now they are in super stock. Last week you were all worried about Hopkins CJ and his cage on his record run. This week your complaining about Holbrook and Wolfe and what motor they are running in super stock. Who cares about the stock hp rating, this is super stock. I'm only bothered by your inane bit*****. By the way Studebaker has an "e" in it. I rest my case, Ralphie.
