No Dutch quaifing posted on DRC?
The Dutch Classic the biggest sportsman race of the year in the country and no qualifing posted on DragRaceCentral.com ? Was anybody going to cover this race on that site?

Re: No Dutch quaifing posted on DRC?
We will not be covering the Dutch Classic this year. I have covered the race for DRC for the past few years even though it was never a part of our official coverage schedule. I covered the race primarily because I like the event and like being there.
This year, however, it falls on my 22nd wedding anniversary and it would not be wise for me to leave my wife at home while I attend the race. Add to that the fact that I also work a full time job and have been at races four of the past five weeks and that explains why DRC is not covering the Dutch. I will check to see what we can do to get the results posted at the end of each day, but there will not be anyone there covering it live. Jim |
Re: No Dutch quaifing posted on DRC?
Dumb question: How do they form the ladder in the second round? Is it how far under the index you go in first round?
|
Re: No Dutch quaifing posted on DRC?
Yes, by how far you run under your index in the first round. No heads up races in the first round.

Mr. Samuels:
If this situation comes up next year, please put out a call for volunteers. One of us is bound to answer the call. |

Happy anniversary! Keep your bride happy haha.
Hey George, so if 2 cars from the same class roll in next to each other would they dial in or would they just find you another opponent? I never ran an open before.. |

It's so simple. Just random pair through the entire eliminator at all events. Why didn't someone think of this before? |
Re: No Dutch quaifing posted on DRC?
In that case you can run Super Gas.

The advantage would be that the guy that out dollars everyone and writes a check for his horsepower would not be guaranteed a win because there would be no heads up runs. Don't you think you are a good enough driver to win when there is a handicap. Or maybe you just like using the excuse that Mr. Big Bucks out ran you because his new car is not classed correctly. Put a handicap in there, take the advantage away and then see who the real winner would be. Very few new cars would be around after the second round if they could not out run everyone heads up. |

As for the part about the dial-in, why would you dial your car different based on who your opponent was or how fast they were? I ran my street Camaro on Wednesday night Street Legal Night at times. Double entered in Street Automatic and Modified, which was open to any car, including those not street legal. I raced against everything from 8 and 9 second Super Gas cars, to 18 second sport compact cars in Modified. And, I dialed my car whatever I thought it was going to run, usually 14.1's, regardless of whether I was receiving or giving up a 5 second spot. If I thought the car would run 14.15, I dialed 14.15. |
