What is ?

85 7784 K/S Paul Wong, Las Vegas NV, '65 Signet 15.296 12.86 2.436

What is a Signet? Don't ever recall seeing or hearing about one.

This might be it. Paul used to run it in Q/SA, I think.

It is a Valiant

Re: What is ?

1964-1966 Plymouth made Valiants to compete with Falcons, Chevy II's, etc. They were economy cars. The biggest engine available in 65 and 66 was the 273/235hp which is what Paul runs.

Valiant models of those years came as the V100, V200 and the Signet which was the top of the line. Pauls car is NOT a Signet but rather a V100 or 200 which came with door post while the Signet had no post and was the heaviest of the three.

Down here in Louisiana, we don't have baby swans but we do have ugly ducklings.

My '66 has Signet emblems on it and it is a post car.

They have figured out this combo. Bill and Angela are great people. Both their cars are flying.

The pic of Paul's car shows it with the Signet script and the door post.

That's interesting because I have a '64 and a '65 and neither says Signet and both are post cars but I did have a Signet in '64 and the Brochure showed no post available, they were all coupes.

Well how many 1969 camaros with Z-28 emblems do you see?If Chevrolet made that many they probably would be worth the same as a Gremlin X.:>):>):>)

What is aValiant "coupe"???

I've seen 2-door sedans, 4-door sedans, 2-door hardtops and station wagons, but never a Valiant "coupe."

What have I missed???

Re: What is ?

The Signet was an upgraded deluxe trim package with bucket seats, center console, upgrade door panels and interior trim level. It was similar to the GT package in Dodge Dart. All the Signets I have seen were 2 DR. Hardtops back then but that doesn't mean they did not make post ones.

Somebody probably made them if they have a class advantage. Every Signet I've ever seen was a coupe.

Re: What is ?

I just took the time to look, Signet is a 13lb. car the rest are 12.5 lb. cars and the guide clearly states that the V100 and V200 are sedans and the Signet is a coupe.
It must be the "West Coast" rulebook thing again.
Probably the same "West Coast" rulebook that gave that combo an Edelbrock aluminium intake because the original is just too hard to find right about the same time that they took 25 HP off of it.
