Division 1 schedule
The D-1 schedule is out and probably because of all the complaining and whinning the second Atco race has been eliminated. I would image that NHRA is tired of all the nonsense. We are stabbing ourselves in the back with our own knife........

Re: Division 1 schedule
Yeah, well look at the Division 2 schedule. February, March, May, and October. All of the early dates have two races back to back, in Georgia or Florida. Absolute true genius in that schedule.

2011 NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES SCHEDULE
NORTHEAST DIVISION May 27-29 Maple Grove Raceway Reading July 1-3 Lebanon Valley Dragway West Lebanon, N.Y. July 22-24 New England Dragway Epping, N.H. Aug. 5-7 Atco Raceway Atco, N.J. Aug. 19-21 Cecil County Dragway Rising Sun, Md. Sept. 9-11 Old Bridge Township Raceway Park Englishtown You got that right Joe.And where do they stick Atco?Right in the middle of our sometimes blow torch summers. So much for the fast records set at sea level tracks. You don't know what you've got, until you lose it. |
Re: Division 1 schedule
Once again they made it nearly impossible for anyone but a touring pro to get eight races in without traveling all over the country.
Absolutly no races in June in D1 , and then schedule the Epping race ontop of the Columbus race! I guess they think no one in D1 goes to Columbus! |
Re: Division 1 schedule
3 races with-in a 4 week time period. :( Just when I was thinking about taking my car off the jack stands, dusting it off and try to do some racing next year. Oh well, it is what it is.
SOUTHEAST DIVISION Feb. 11-13 Bradenton Motorsports Park Bradenton, Fla. Feb. 18-20 Gainesville Raceway Gainesville, Fla. March 4-6 South Georgia Motorsports Park Cecil, Ga. May 20-22 Atlanta Dragway Atlanta Oct. 14-16 Silver Dollar Raceway Reynolds, Ga. Hey Dan Moore, you're #1. :D RIP Mark Graham |

Basically, Division 2 is telling us all that if we can't take off two weekends in a row 3 times between February and May, you can just go pound sand. And the closest race to the guys in the northern part of Division 2 is a 4 hour drive, the rest of them are 6-7 to 10 or more hours away. And we get the fewest races of any Division. What a deal! |

Re: Division 1 schedule
Joe, Dennis,and Ed,
I don't think the whinning had anything to do with it, All the divisions(exceptD2) have 6 lodrs races and so do we. They added Epping and dropped 1 Atco race. It is rare to have 2 lodrs races at the same track, we have had 2 at atco for awhile, but I think that was because we don't go to a couple of tracks we use to go to. Tom, I hear you on columbus, but this scheduling thing is harder than you can imagine, especially with the multitude of events the tracks have. As far as June goes, the first weekend is the e'town nats and the last weekend is the Napierville open. Does anyone know for sure when the Atco open or the Dutch is ? |
Re: Division 1 schedule
Div 2 schedule blows as always I guess I remember why I havent raced there in years :(. I called there and asked about Z-Max and why we dont get more races they said they were working on it.....What do you do ?!?! If i was retired in Florida i would love the schedule not all of us are retired!!!!! Oh well IHRA and Gear Jammers are looking good.I wish the would of gave Harry the tech guy the job someone that understands us.I respect the zoot suits just like flies one swat there done.Oh well Im not gonna let them bring me down they will never understand us guess there working on there son tans.Does anyone wonder why we quit sponsoring the Divisional its because they wouldnt give us a pit pass that we were entitled to or a parking place ever to display product .We always treated every director with respect!! Bill Holt even came and shook my hand at he div. at Gainesville a week after denying us a National entry to The Gators. classy move there yah.He never got over my Dad not having a grade point and was told he couldnt race Indy he DID after racing Bowling Green THANK YOU! I guess Pops musta been pissed he runner up his first race in years there. Oh well hope to see you all the races next year I will be loaded for BEAR!!!!! My RANT Its the USA last I remembered were still entitled to FREE SPEECH.Any body got some whiskey i need a shot loll....

Re: Division 1 schedule
Just a thought but Atco may not have wanted a second race. Joe has plenty on the schedule and 2 races is not worth the trouble for him. I am sure he probably makes more money on a weekly basis than he does when we show up.

Re: Division 1 schedule

Re: Division 1 schedule

|
Re: Division 1 schedule
Im not sure when we ran Montgomery which was a great track for all of us Wesley DIv 4 director at the time used to tech too it was awesome having him there along with the other tech guys.

Re: Division 1 schedule
Looking at the D1 schedule it would appear they have put a decent amount of time between each event up here. It's not just the racers that are effected by the schedule. The Divisional support staff put in a lot of time to give us an event to run at. Leaving some room in between events in case of rainouts only makes sense, just remember how October went up here.

I'd say Harry didn't WANT the job, just like Wesley wouldn't want it. Even if he got the job, they wouldn't let him actually do the job. Funny, Harry came to our pits at Reynolds, but the new "director" never bothered. |

Re: Division 1 schedule
Jim ,I realize that there are gaps for the D1 Nat events, but scheduling Epping on the same weekend as Columbus is totally inconsiderate of racers budgets.
Now to get eight races we need to travel considerably farther. BTW , the way the weather has been in the Northeast the last two weekends,Atco in November would have a great choice!. I'm not suprised that Atco has only one race next year.....Joe Sway has experianced a substantial loss of participation at the Fall race.....He could probably make more profit with a Bracket race on that date. |
Re: Division 1 schedule
I just talked with my mother told her about what I had to say why we dont sponsor anymore divisional shes says Bill Holt said he was gonna start charging us by the foot fro our rig.Sounds like he was jealous ..What a azz clown jealousy destroys period ...

Re: Division 1 schedule
How do you put Lebanon and N.H. kind of back to back..
Lebanon on 4th July just sucks as usual.. I'll run one and not the other.. Maybe run Columbus instead. Ouch |
Re: Division 1 schedule
I do agree with Tom with the Epping and Columbus the same weekend is kind of insane because they are about the same amount of time driving for them both....Tom is prob closer to Columbus then us (7hours to Epping and 8 hours to Columbus) plus the way things look right now the weekend before Epping/Columbus will be open. It looks like we will do the local stuff and see where that takes us and focus more on masga stuff. When is the National Open schedule supposed to be released?

Other than that though I actually like the D1 schedule. More races in the warmer weather equates to less potential weather problems and more opportunity for rescheduling if it should be necessary. What I don't understand is why D1 does not have a Jegs Sportsnational race. |
Re: Division 1 schedule
Angelo,
I have asked the same question or just make the Dutch a Sportsnational event. It usually draws a decent amount of cars and has everything except TAFC & TAD. Make it a sportsnational for the D-1 guys since we only have 2 Nationals until 2012 when Epping joins the mix of National Events. |
Re: Division 1 schedule
Call the DUTCH anything but just keep it with sportsman cars only WITHOUT the Alcohol cars and the CIRCUS acts.

Jim can predict the future...lol. Hmmm I wonder what track it will be? I can only think it would be another Atco or maybe Numidia?
Does anyone know when the IHRA schedule will be announced? I know they have tickets on sale for the 1st 2 Nitro Jams of 2011 at Palm Beach and State Capitol but, no schedule yet. |
