SportsNationals CIC Races

After speaking with my wife, Linda and I would be willing (and eager) to attend the Fontana and Columbus SportsNationals to head-up (pun intended) a Stock/Super Stock CIC race at those events. Of course, the local racers would have to get the OK from the track managers and the division directors.

We will also bring $1,500.00 with us to pass on to the winner ($1,000) and the runner-up ($500.00). If some of the area racers could get together, I am sure we could get additional $$$ to sweeten the purse, plus I am confident that we could get some contingency product from manufacturers.

Also, we need to look into doing something for the .90 racers at these events. We need to find four "local" sponsors to put up $500. Then give $500 to the best package in qualifying in S/C, S/G, & SST. After the qualifying is over, bring the three category winners up for one more hit at their tree & index, with the best package of those winners getting a bonus $500. This will give every "super" racer a shot at a grand BEFORE FIRST ROUND OF ELIMINATIONS.

If the Top Sportsmen & Top Dragster drivers can find some sponsors, a Quick-8 Shootout could be held for them. That would add to the FUN part of drag racing.

I know some of you are thinking that the concussion I sustained in the auto accident in May must have loosened my marbles... Yes it did. I am doing much better, but my doctor doesn't want me to drive a racecar anymore. He says that if I get another good lick to my head, I may not recover. I don't want to take that chance, but I can still hang out with you guys and have some fun.

Give my number to the track managers and D-D's. I can be reached for comments and suggestions on my cell at (985) 665-7145, or at our home at the beach in Alabama at:

How bout all the new cars being put together and then only run others when they have to. I would hate to load up to run 1 under and just have a new car put a fender on me. This way they can get their big CIC hits out of the way.
