NHRA Super Street poll
NHRA is polling Super Street racers. I'm posting it as closely as I can here, so racers not listed in their database can vote.

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
Thanks, they didnt send me the SST poll just SC and SG

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
If I wanted to go dial in racing I could just stay home and go bracket racing. Plus I save $5.99 on the shoe polish.

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
I see no need for the Scotty rule....by the way, how did it get to be called the Scotty rule? Something to do with Scotty Richardson running multiple classes?
|
Re: NHRA Super Street poll
I believe so. It was back when he was winning championships and races all over the country in multiple categories including Super Street. Since Super Street is suppose to be entry level. I guess they felt traveling pro sportsmen shouldn't be allowed to run in it.
Since Super Street can't win a national championship, it seems like overkill to also disallow people from entering Super Street as well as some other category. |
Re: NHRA Super Street poll
It wasn't the entry level drivers that were complaining about Scotty.
It was the 20 year entry level SST Pro's that were upset.. He was kicking our buts in SG & SC too. |
Re: NHRA Super Street poll
I think it's interesting, over 1000 views and only 83 votes... but yet people will complain if something changes.

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
If NHRA allows us to run for a National Championship in Super Street I may consider racing within that format again. The Scotty rule is stupid… And there is nothing “entry level” about SST.

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
I voted to keep it the way it is and drop the Scotty rule. All three classes are fine, they aint broke. If I remember right, I think Cohen has brought this up a few times about dropping the index - Is he the instigator behind these polls?:p

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
Most of the big-buck guys are the agitators for lower indexes, because one of the few advantages they don't already have is where on the track they come off the stops - nobody likes loading the chassis with 1100 HP at 330' down track. Now they want the last advantage to the slow cars - consistency on marginal track conditions - turned to their favor as well. Just my opinion. There's nobody stopping them from replacing their 598's with 454's.

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
I don't care how good you are. You run 150 in sst I run 130. You can't judge me no better than I judge you. same with the other classes. THats why they want them changed.

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
I don't really understand the dial 10.00 - 10.99. If your doing that aren't you really just bracket racing ? Or you just don't keep records of your runs and don't know how to dial your car for a .90 with different weather and/or tracks.

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
the bigggggggist thing that NHRA should do is get rid of the 2800lb. rule
with the , motors getting bigger, cars going faster, no one is building new cars to run sst, saftey comes in to play. drop a 5lb. ball at 5ft. on a sheet of 1/4 in. plywood... now drop a 100lb. ball at 5ft. on the same sheet get my point... i have raced scotty, no big thing ... i have raced lamar stevenson too, NO BIG THING..... HAHAHAHHA |

I bet that has something to do with Texas...and things being "bigger" there. Next thing you know, we will have to tow a Vega..Mustang...or something for ballast! Truck on... Keith |
Re: NHRA Super Street poll
I say make SST the same as HR 2600.

Yea Dan. No big thing to race um. The big thing is beating them

Re: NHRA Super Street poll
I didn't get to vote on the S/ST official poll (only the S/G one) since I dropped my S/ST number when the fees were increased. The one option I would add to the poll would be to drop the weight limit. I'd like to see it at 2500 lbs like it used to be, but I could also see using 2600 since it would match IHRA.
