No Stock at the Winternationals?

Looking at the entry list for Pomona, stock is not on it so I am assuming that stock is not being contested there. That changes my plans!

Re: Stock at Winternationals

Has anyone heard anything about the rest?

Re: Stock at Winternationals

I would not read too much into that. I see that Pro Stock Motorcycle is on the Pomona entry list and I'm certain the bikes won't be there. I do not have any inside information but I believe the official class rotation schedule will be released later this week. I'm certainly hoping that Stock will be contested in Pomona.

According to the registration schedule nobody can enter yet...although Pros are a different deal. Wednesday is first day for Grade 8 and above...

Re: Stock at Winternationals

With the low car counts there is absolutely no reason to not allow Stock or Super Stock at selected events! Sportsman racers are the backbone of the sport and to continue not allow one category or another at select events in order to make room for another freak show race is an insult! Jim

Something is not right -

The "quota" in all categories at Pomona is one

At Gainsville it is two

None of the others show anything

:-) peace

They just haven't set the quota's yet...whether or not stk is being run is another question though, i hope they figure it out soon or else my plans are drastically changing.

Sounds good.
When I lived in So. Cal. throughtout the 80's, the Winternationals was my favorite event.
It is where I fell in love with the Stock Eliminator class.

I just logged on to the registration site for fun to see if I could enter. Pomona wasn't there, but Gainesville was. It says that the insurance is $95 now. Hopefully that's wrong because it's pretty hard to believe the price of insurance has went up 58%.

Stock is being run at Winternationals with a quota of 70. This is 10 less than last year, the same for Super Stock.

Re: Stock at Winternationals

I logged on for the Winternationals $305.00 to enter. Tom

Why less quota? To make room for more T/S and T/D ?

Re: Stock at Winternationals

I know NHRA is gonna increase the payout
NOT!
You would think maybe a free crew pass or a hot dog or some Peanut Oil
So it will go in easier!!

And you guys thing the Dragpack and Mustangs are your biggest problem, 10 less than last year, its slowly happening.

Re: Stock at Winternationals

You guys better start supporting your stock and S/S circuits better. NHRA might not be the only game in town in the future.

Tony Janes 12-15-2010 12:53 PM

Re: Stock at Winternationals

Super Comp and Super Gas got cut from 90 to 80. Total quota 2010 was 500, 2011 is 456

Re: Stock at Winternationals

Maybe their going to run the Unleashed classes. No shoe polish equals more fans. Dial ins are out with the average fan.

Tony Janes 12-15-2010 04:38 PM

Re: Stock at Winternationals

The fans come to see the fuel show and some even like pro stock. The rest of it is just to keep something going down the track.

Ed Wright 12-15-2010 06:34 PM

Re: Stock at Winternationals

It amazes me how many leave the stands when Pro Stock comes up, the rest pretty much leave when they are done. Hardly anybody watches pro mod, td & td either. Just the pretty much the two fuel classes.

Re: Stock at Winternationals

Slution. Two sportsnationals in eah division counts towards championship.
Best 5 of 8 divisionals
Best 2 of 4 sportsnat's.
We don't have to drag our stuff all over the country if we don't want. And you're still capable of winning the world.
The tourers still have the option of hitting as many sports nat's as they want.
That way they (NHRA) can run Underleashed or Punks or any other freak show. It'll just be a new crowd to jerk around.
This wasn't rocket science. It just flowed out as I was typing.
