I got a e-mail from our friend Bob Doerrer AKA Berserkbob today, with this list of tracks he has been to.
I count 58 on his list we raced at + 9-10 more that I can think of.

Bobby's got me probably by about 155 or so.But,I've been to one he hasn't.Back in 1965
while I was stationed in Ft Campbell Ky I went to Clarksville Dragway (Clarksville Tn).
It was an 1/8 mile track.I just looked and they're still in business.They have a 2011 schedule posted.
I went on 3 trips to London in the 90s and never got to Santa Pod,it was winter time,or I would have made the trip.

I have been to 65 dragstrips around the country over the years. Some I raced at, some I worked at, and some I just visited in my travels.

During my travels I try to attend local dragstrips in that area. If there are no dragstrips running at the time I will seek out a local dirt or asphalt roundtrack (strictly as a spectator). I really enjoy seeing grassroots racing around the country.

raced at i think 67, been to about 80... and of the 67 the current wagon has been to 59 > i guess thats ok she is 51 years old this year, and shes been draggin since she was only a young 20 year old !!

88 including Salinas, Puerto Rico, Fuji Japan, and the front stretch of Lemans in France. One of my all-time favorites is probably Thorn Hill in southern Kentucky. Do they still have a analog clocks hanging over each lane in leu of a Christmas tree?

I've only raced at 17, and been to 4 more....I guess I'll have to move again to add to that count, since I don't have the budget some have to frequently travel 400 miles +...perhaps northwest, so I can add the REAL FIREBIRD RACEWAY IN BOISE (I've already been to FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY, in Chandler), plus Woodburn, Portland, Eagle Point, Spokane, Mission, Bc., Fallon, Nv., plus Sonoma, Ca. to the list.

However, I'll be thankful for those which I've been able to go to, because there's always someone somewhere who hasn't been to as many tracks as I've been blessed to go to/race at! :)

Kevin, Thorn Hill replaced the clocks several years ago with a Christmas tree. From my understanding the clocks were sold at auction. Don't know how true it is however one of the clocks is said to be in Garlits' museum in Florida.

Raced at about 25, have been to about 40 over the years.

Been to 39, raced at 34. First dragstrip I went to was San Gabriel Valley CA in 1957.

I raced at 16 different tracks in2010. I would'nt even know where to begin to count how many.
I've raced in 16 different states off the top of my head maybe more.

I've raced at 19; only visited or passed by 2-3 others. Two of the obscurer ones I've been to were Strato-Rods Dragway on McGuire AFB in NJ and the short-lived Wayne County Speedway Dragstrip in Pikeville NC.

It took me eleven years to win ONE ROUND in H/SA at George's, Ed.

I've only won an eliminator there twice; I got a runner-up last June. The racing is insanely tough at that track.

Been to 48, but only raced at about five or six.... Poverty will do that to ya....

Worked Stocker tech at Carlisle, AR, Stuttgart, AR, Little Rock, AR, Des Moines, IA, and Humboldt, IA.... Every one is now closed.... :(

From what I read on another site, George Ray's is now closed and at risk of being sold at auction so that the kids and split up the money. After watching that video, I can't believe how fast some of the cars are that run there. I had never expected that when I had seen pictures previously.

It will be a shame if it closes for good. Though it looks unsafe as hell there, I have to admit that I would have liked to have crossed running there off of my bucket list.

As for this thread, I've raced at 15 and been to 26. It doesn't surprise me in the least that we have members over 100. Mr. Beard's 56 is pretty impressive too.

Jason: George Ray's may be closed for the season but it is NOT closed for good. George's wife has made very clear it will open this year and continue racing;

Bill: Humboldt is alive and doing well.

Ron: Bonus points if you can remember the original name of Hazelhurst! (Yes, I've been there...and I've been to Mr. Smith's Junkyards 1 and 2!)

I've tried and tried to remember the name of the track at Hazlehurst and can't. I also remember going to my first drag race at the old dragstrip on Hwy. 49 just north of Jackson, Ms. can't remember the name of it either. I took 10 years off from drag racing and went stock car racing and have raced or been to just as many oval tracks too.
Now that I think about all that, maybe that's the reason I'm single these days.

We have been snowed in for a week and this gives me something to do besides argue with judy.the tracks i have raced in the us total over 150 that i can think of, plus canada and puerto rico.i don't believe i ever just visited any track.since i was 15 years old,if they built it,i would come.see you in bradenton. Anybody been to, or heard of Yellow Belly in or around Dallas? I've heard some outrageous stories....true or urban legend?

Tested at the defunct Lawrence (Kansas) strip (eighth mile) once, over-the-hill, through-the-trees and toward- a-creek after finish line.....saw a photo once of Garlit's at night, flames shooting up and crowd about 10 feet away at start line...wow, no insurance surcharge there I'll bet
