Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
6 Attachment(s)
We would like to run this across your guys to see if any one has any ideas. I know you Chevy guys will know what to do with this car.
*Restore it Concours? *Restore it factory? *Sell it as is? *Fix it up and sell on Barrett Jackson? *Convert it to a Bonneville and race it? *Sell it to a NHRA guy to race? *Change color? Engine and call all underneath was undercoated and absolutely cherry. It was garage kept its whole life. Scrapes and dents from an old lady driver. Zero Options. License plate last licensed was 1976. Six cylinder hamered a bit, but then purrs like a kitten. It is way cool |

Lynn, That's got 1957 (street) Gasser written all over it ! Clone the Mr. Gasket (Hrudka Bros.) Black and White C/gasser for the street! Electronic Fuel injected SB Chevy with upright injector stacks. That's what I'm talkin' about. JB.

Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Can someone who is knowledgable about the crossed-flags emblem tell me why I remember seeing them on the car in two places, please? Seems like the Black Widows had them on the back fender, up high, and the street cars I saw, had them on the front fender, about 8" below the top of the fender, just ahead of the door opening.
Am I dreaming????- |
Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Bill;
The Black Widows were based on the 150 model, which had the fuel injection flags and script on the rear quarter. The 210 and BelAir models had the emblems on the front fender. Lynn; It'd make a cool SS/GT, and then the Camaro owners would have an aero advantage over someone else in the class like the Cobalts do now! LOL |
Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Sell it to me to build a Junior Stock replica! :)

What if you bought a 283 horsepower 150 2-door sedan? It's not a Black Widow, so where do the flags go? I appreciate your reponse! |
Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Bill;
If it had fuel injection, the emblems would be in the same place on a regular 150 model as they were on the Black Widows. Glad to help. Jeff |

Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Lynn, can you tell us why you disassembled a car that was so nice and original?
|
Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Put a 426 Hemi in it so it will go fast .....lol!
JimR I would build it like a Junior Stocker with all the correct parts and a 4sp, letter it and drive to car shows and around town. |

It is nice inside the exterior sheet metal, but the bottoms of the rear quarters need repair. We also wanted to see if there was any damage to the chassis or inside the fenders. We found it is cherry on the inside. It does need repainted and has minor dings from mishaps of the old lady who drove it (Just on Sunday to church :)) Also, it needs some of the chrome re-plated. |
Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Does anyone want to make a stab at what it is worth?
|
Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Not enough pictures to really tell what condition the car is in. $$$?

Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Lynn.
I sold a 56 Chevy 2dr sedan for $6500 with original 6cy and a 4 speed. No headliner, original bench seat and worn door panels. Everything worked. Body was not perfect and a little rust. I was the second owner. Hope this helps. |
Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
We took this car apart and bagged and tagged everything. We are going to restore it back to the original condition. Not concours, but original. I am sure the paint might be a bit more polished and smooth than the GM orange peal of the day. It wont take much for us to do that :). Any guesses based on that? Who is the expert for these cars? Last weekend we just realized that his car still has the original tires on it!

Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
a few restored 57s at Barrett Jackson.anywhere from $27k to $44k
|
Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
One problem is that it is a 6 cyl. car, and the VIN # shows that. If you change it to a V-8 it will be a modified car, so the originality kind of suffers. But there is always a market for a nice 5-7 Chevy no matter what the condition is.

Re: Our 57 210 Sedan low miles
Much cheaper to buy a nicely finished car than to build one...
