BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
Well, Just got the word from Dr. Taylor that the little (305) from Hebron,Ky made it out of surgery and she will be in rehab for a couple of weeks!!! Stay Tuned for further UPDATES!!!!!:D:):D:)

Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
That's great, and that is a good running little car. But, we all are going to have to deal with Lloyd Wolford's new Dodge DP and that new Mustang (sorry, forgot his name). Legit cars are going to be in trouble next year until (if) they get enough hp hits.

Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
Unless Dr Taylor performed magic and converted your 305 to a ford 352 or a dodge 360 your still *****d.

Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
Bob, people bad mouth me for telling it like it is no BS. Some people can't handle real facts.
A 305 CANNOT RUN WITH A NEW 352 or a 360 END OF STORY THANKS FOR PLAYING. |
Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
WOW 1 bad 305 i think we will run modified
|
Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
There's nothing like a bogus hp rating to make a fast car.

Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
Greg and Chad you guys kill me you think there is no hard work involved in building one of these new cars. There is no less work in building a 2010 mustang then in building a 1971 camaro. Good parts cost the same no matter what car they go in.
Greg you forgot about bogus heads and intakes. Oh wait all Stocker pre 2008 already have these parts |

Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
Charlie, I'd tend to agree with your statement. The answers needed to get an edge on the other new cars is not a known quantity. That part of it is exciting.
Once again, the bitch is the factors, not the cars. When the battle really heats up between the new cars, the ET's will drop big time. There are big chunks of power left to find in these new combos, not so in the '71 Camaros. With the factors so "wrong" now, it's likely to be even worse. Love the cars, hate the factoring. |

Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
Why not have Class Eliminations where the "fastest car" counts but when regular Eliminations start.....no heads-up runs. Then the bogus factoring and other "science" is not the factor, it is the driver and car together.
That would eliminate all the worry and guys who feel they have to stay home because they are .4 short in a heads-up run. I think you would get more cars to enter the events, drivers will win not AFHS-ratings and more new guys might build affordable combinations. I know this isn't a popular idea, change seldom is, but seeing the interest in Stock and S/Stock declining it could be something to change that wouldn't hurt anything and might help strengthen the sport. Jok (used to own a nice C/SA but getting "crushed" after towing 250 miles and ending up running some "bogus-rated" car or a guy who can spend $80K on a Stocker to go .90 under in a "heads-up run" during eliminations just didn't interest me anymore. ) Loved the racers I met and the fun of racing in Stock but not the politics, that simple. |

Jok, You are making too much sense. The problem is that if there were ten cars in a class, five would be for the idea and five would be against it. Guess which five would be for and which five would be against. But do not dispare, the tide may be turning. Randy Jones: He usually runs out west but his participation is occasionally as he runs some heads up stuff too. Caro/Wofford: They can run the number with ease Scott Gove: Only races regionally because I assume he has to be there run his shop Paul Ricci, John Clegg have fast cars too and I'm sure there are some more that I'm forgetting. Don't know if Lee Sharp has a big motor handy but he could step down some classes and run well. |

Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
Ok, we've established that only a couple SS/AM cars can go 7's, one has actually done it, and SS/AH racing is boring....
There won't be a "real" SS/JA car that can get within 3 tenths of Stancil's DP. Look how fast Nowicki has already gone with the same combo! Good luck to all those who want to try. The smarter play to me seems to be to avoid a HP hit of your own and let the DP's and CJ's work themselves up the food chain. |
Re: BAD NEWS for SS/JA CARS!!!!
There's actually three that have run those numbers this year and quite a few that don't show all of there cards but have the potential to.
Who where and when did they go a 7 in SS/AM? |
