Anyone else receive one of these
I was speaking with a friend of mine at dinner tonight ( longtime NHRA member) and he told me that he received a questionnaire, including a prepaid return envelope, from the IRS regarding the NHRA. Said it was short, but asked some interesting questions. One was asking if he had ever had a vote or input on any issues or leadership elections, and if so describe. Another was asking if he was aware of the compensation received by the board/management. I am sure he was chosen at random, but this is a sure sign that the IRS is actually investigating this.
Anyone else received a similar questionnaire or inquiry? |

Re: Anyone else receive one of these
Can you have him scan it and post it? I would be interesting to see.

Re: Anyone else receive one of these
That would be interesting to see. May be this is serious.
Hope he said he was not aware of the compensation. Saying he was might be understood as approving of it. |

Re: Anyone else receive one of these
All the IRS has to do is go back to when WP retired and turned over control to the board of directors and see where they (the BOD) announced the NHRA would be immediately directed to becoming a Motorsports Marketing Agency. I believe this was clearly announced in ND.

The can of worms has been officially opened. Can't wait to hear the "pit buzz" next weekend.

Re: Anyone else receive one of these
I am suspicious since only one of us got it
I have had some really official stuff sent to me - which was bogus Did they ask for any personal verification data to make certain they had the right person? i.e. - SSN How do you know it was from the IRS – because it said it was? Since he did not keep a copy he probably will not recall the address where he sent it A PO Box would seem correct but could be for anyone – as long as the addressee was the Internal Revenue Service and not some litigation agency it is probably OK Lot of crocks out there – be careful what you send to anyone Identity theft is big Mostly happens through email but they can use the US Mail as well Maybe I am to synical Too careful |
