Mr Joffrion, are there any discount for early fan ticket sales. I would like to buy Friday-Sunday tickets now if possible but if there is an early discount available, I would like to take full advantage of it.

Pat do you have the rules and payouts for this years CIC race yet?

Re: Jeg's SportsNationals Discount Entry

Adriel - 3-day event passes are discounted at the gate. $20.00/day or $55 for a 3-day pass.

Charlie - Class winners will "dial" their index for first round, without any breakout. Any winning driver will reduce his/her "dial-in" for any run under .70 of their dial for each succeeding round.

EXAMPLE: G/SA index is 12.00 - That is the "dial-in" for first round. G/SA driver wins first round, but runs an e-t of 11.222. Round up the run to 11.23. Take the 11.23, add back .70, and the second round "dial-in" is 11.93.

Second round, G/SA wins with an e-t of 11.50. Third round "dial-in" remains at 11.93.

Third round, G/SA wins with an e-t of 11.168. Round up to 11.17 add back .70, and the next round dial is 11.87.

Fourth round, G/SA wins with 11.20. Fifth round dial remains the same at 11.87.

Fifth round, G/SA wins with 11.091. Sixth round dial in is 11.80.

Sixth round, G/SA has .001 light and runs 10.700, but loses by 1-inch to Jeff Teuton who cuts a .149 light in his H/SA Dodge that runs 10.699 at 134 mph.

Final Round, Teuton dials 11.40 and runs 10.498, but loses to Bob Shaw's 1968 Cadillac El Dorado Convertible that runs 2.406 under his index. Tueton is heard mumbling something about a "sleeper" combo as he pops open a Coors Light. Shaw is overheard offering to sell the Cadi for $3,000, hoping to double his investment.

We will pair Stock vs. Stock and Super Stock vs. Super Stock until we pair on ladder at 16 or fewer cars. The combined winners will be paired using best reaction time from the prior round, using a sportsman ladder.

Wait-N-See bye car will be randomly selected by lane and number, or by color. (really random when the tower computer girl calls it out)

Once paired, the ladder may be revised to insure that no driver gets a 2nd bye run, unless all remianing drivers have each had a bye run.

No Problem Raceway will pay cash money ... $1,000 - win / $500 r-u / $250 semi's.

There is no charge to run the CIC race, and it is open to all class winners. Non-class winners are on the schedule to receive NON-QUALIFYING time trial on Saturday, but late arrivals will get a qualifying run, so the ladder might change.

you forgot about whoever is driving Teuton's V10 Challenger running an 8.94@149 in AA/SA but otherwise sounds right to me

Re: Jeg's SportsNationals Discount Entry

Pat what are you going to do about singles? Will they all race each other for a class winner?

Pat Joffrion 02-17-2011 08:15 PM

Re: Jeg's SportsNationals Discount Entry

NHRA has issued a new format for single-car class eliminations at national events, and the JEG'S Cajun SportsNationals will follow that format for class eliminations on Friday.

However, the CIC race, which is a first-to-the-finish-line show for the spectators on Saturday, is hosted and purse paid by NPR. The CIC race is open to all class winners, even if there is only one car in that class.

Remember, Bob Shaw has to drive that Cadi a long way, and gas ain't cheap! I heard it only gets 14 mpg! Cheaper to sell it at the track than drive it back to Seladia, Missouri. :)

Re: Jeg's SportsNationals Discount Entry

Do you know on the new format for singles how many cars are put together? Will all the singles run off for one class win? Will singles be lined up with cars of similar indexs, say you have a GT/MA vers GT/KA or a U/SA vers B/SA? In superstock will GTs run GTs and reg superstock run reg superstock. It did say sticks and autos. No more putting a fender on them. Tom

Re: Jeg's SportsNationals Discount Entry

Tom - This is from the NHRA website:

• One significant change to increase the level of competition in class eliminations is the creation of combo classes in Super Stock and Stock for those classes that are represented by a single car. The four combo classes will be Super Stock Combo-Stick, Super Stock Combo-Automatic, Stock Combo-Stick, and Stock Combo-Automatic. Eliminations for the combo classes will utilize a handicap start with no breakout. The car that crosses the finish line first in each combo class-eliminations run will be declared the winner. Only one Wally trophy (and contingency payout at the four eligible events) will be presented to the winner of each of the four combo classes during the 12 class-eliminations events. Those classes in Super Stock and Stock that include two or more cars will continue to have class eliminations conducted as in the past.

Looks like there will be 2 winners in each category.

Thanks Pat. If you get one of the combo class trophys you are going to earn it. Tom

Well I was definetly going. I was there last year.
Thats at least one entry they lost.
Maybe I'll be the only one. But I seriously doubt it.
Maybe we should start a roll call for those not going.

Art, Pat said the single car class winners still get to run the cic race, right? Are you just protesting the new format?

I had a blast last year. I am going. I live near Chicago and could use a break from the snow. I might get my Arse kicked in class, but I am damn sure not going to worry about a single. I am not sure if I understand it, but I would rather race someone and go down swinging then to whine about not getting a single. I am going to have a good time and Pat works his tail off to make sure of it. I will be there. :)

Thats not they way I read it. You are not a class winner unless you get a trophy. A no trophies for singles. I don't blame Pat. To do it any other way would be a mess.
I'm not protesting the new format. It isn't going to get any better. The rules are so vague. I'm sure there is going to be some very unhappy campers. And one of them won't be me.

Art is just looking for another place to bitch about the new class eliminations deal. I don't like it either, but then not being guaranteed money for winning class has never kept me away from a race.

What is vague about it. If you are the only car in your class you are put into a ladder with the other single class cars. There will be one ladder for SS stick cars one for SS auto cars same thing for stock.
As far as Pats CIC race he is running that on his own. Any one that is the only one in their class will be put on the latter as a class winner.

Bobby - No problem with early parking for anyone needing a place to stay or to drop a rig.

Art - Just to clarify ... The CIC race will follow the prior years rules ... All single class entries will be included in first round on Saturday.

Pat

As long as you like to cut and paste!
But I still don't see your point. I never said I was bitchin on my behalf.
I have told you guys I have a distinct advantage. The way it is. And I basically control my own destiny.
I'm very happy Pat has decided to use last years rules. It will help a few good racers.
Me I've opted to stay home and work on my stuff.
