Re: The new BIR payout
50 & 100 on the bottom? A little light. Not the orign USA payout for 32 cars. But thats just my thoughts. Going to be your deal not mine.

Re: The new BIR payout
hay Ron
How was the USA deal again? I remember like, 33 cars was 1000 W 500 RU 250 5th 150 4th 90 3rd Is this the way it was? I got quite a few of the $90 checks :) But I have a question. Was this just the way USA setup the payout with the track? Quote:

Re: The new BIR payout
I don't think this is etched in stone quite yet Joe

Re: The new BIR payout
32 cars, 1000 to win. 2nd round got the 90. Magic number 32. And a posted payout for less than 32. Everyone knew what they were racing for. A traveling payout that went with the group.

Re: The new BIR payout
Hey guys, I think that at this point in time, the USA's barginning power is very low, so I think this is a great payout, lets compare it to a division race and also of we have the BOX to add a little it makes it even better
|
Re: The new BIR payout
Not talking about USA money or this (BOX) thing. Just entry money. (BOX), for me No! But there again thats just me.
|
Re: The new BIR payout
I remember it used to be with the USA if you won a round it paid for the membership for the whole year.
|
Re: The new BIR payout
Very good !! Thats the way it was..
|
Re: The new BIR payout
The key in all of this is HOW TO get 33 cars, when in the past several years the class was from 16 to 24 or so..........that's a lot of cars to pick up. Impossible---no.
The "Box" is an ok idea, if ALL participate. But if that's the case, why not just make the entry fee higher?!?! Maybe if a couple Series sponsors could be found it might make things sweeter yet. If all else fails, the BIR bracket program looks pretty darn good in 2011! $2000 Win/$1200 R-U after the Super Pro/Pro run off on a $60 entry fee. |
Re: The new BIR payout
Travis, your very right about car count, the racers have to make an effort to show up to get a better payout, forget about the USA payout of old, that was when there was advertizing sold and silent auctions to raise the extra cash, I don't see much activity with that now. I think the entry fee is good, I would rather pay that than $150 to go to a divisional and win 4 rounds to win very little. I think BIR takes 20% and I see nothing wrong with that.Thats a big track to take care of. Ron, what the hell is it going to take to make you happy? Tell us, and we'll do our best to make you happy.
|
Re: The new BIR payout
Travis and Ron here is your payout solution, drag your cars all 3-4 of them to fargo, rent the track for 400.00 and then pay 100.00 each and you can have winner 200.00 r/u 100.00 and
semi finalists 50.00, thats 100 percent payout and you guys will be (Happy) for a change, then you can do a group hug and ask where else your going to drive to to race. Oh i forgot the track rental, and fuel and 300k in hauler and cars but just absorb it and smile!!! Feel the love!!!!! Flame on boys!!!!!!!! |
Re: The new BIR payout
Now you see Travis, it pays more to bracket race your car than run it in Stk/ SS so come on over and run with us lowly racers.
|
Re: The new BIR payout
Ron--I don't get your attitude, but whatever. I'm just trying to make this sport better than what it has been. I just have a different opinion on how to do it. Right, Wrong, or Indifferent I'm not going to change.
I plan on it Mike. The Chevelle is almost all freshened and ready to go. |
Re: The new BIR payout
Didnt know I was unhappy. Just saying how it was before. Did you know I was at BIR the whole Haunted Hey Ride weekend Helping out. Sitting with the owners Fri and Sat nite trying to save S & SS, Saying that there should be a group of people to rep the classes? Now you say I should go to Fargo to race. No, I didnt save the world but I tried. Where were you? Think Im against this? No, just want it right for everyone. Dont want me there? Thats OK too.
|
Re: The new BIR payout
Please, (Travis) first stop and think about this, we are in the most geographically challenged area
for drag racing in the country for the number of tracks in close proximity, second this is a nationwide forum and the only people complaining about the payout at combo races in the country are ding ding ding (YOU) and (RON ZENZEN) again please (THINK) about it! |
Re: The new BIR payout
Just wondering, who raced the second day of the two day raced last year?? I didnt like No Qual run but did it anyway. Joe? Kerby? Ron?

Re: The new BIR payout
Lets stay cool here now boys.
We can’t get where we need to be if we all don’t work together. This should be FUN ! Not a place to bitch at each other. This payout is not etched in stone nor is there any reason to get upset. I have got the BIR combo races a sponsor. Eric Kitzan Trucking Of Glen Ullin ND. Has committed !!!ON HIS OWN WITH OUT ANYONE ASKING HIM!!! to A $500 SPONSORSHIP for the 5 combo races at BIR. ($100 EACH RACE) I would like to thank Eric from myself and all that will attend the races a BIG Thank You! Now we don’t know how we are going to divide it up and put it in to the pay-out. I am thinking $75 for the winner $25 r/u.EACH RACE Myself and Ron Prince are going to set up a payout plan from 16 - 32 cars and get it approved by BIR. I will then post it for you all to see! Thanks! Glen DeMENGE I am working hard to keep this going in the right direction Please work with me here we need to stay positive!!! Thanks again! |
Re: The new BIR payout
I doubt any of you will miss me if I'm there or not.
If your happy the way the payout has been in the past (prior to this season), then good for you...I haven't been, and that's why I have stayed away from racing the BIR combos. I am happy there is a direction with BIR and the committee. Get 33 cars to show, this can work...if not, it's not going to be worth it with out some sort of guaranteed payout. You just won't get the cars to show (case in point as Mr. Mattson pointed out---demographics) for a 1-day race. And in 2012 S/SS at BIR will be no more. It effects me VERY little, as I will gladly bracket race my Chevelle. Together on another thread, we brainstormed over 70 S/SS racer's names from MN alone. Why have only 16 to 24 been showing up? If that issue get's solved, all this blah, blah, blah bickering will stop. |
Re: The new BIR payout
What payout would it take to get more guys to show up? You can't tell me 1200.00 bucks to win is bad, that isn't a lot less then a national event pays. One big reason to show up is to support a race that is being put together by another racer. That's the biggest reason I asked Glen about the sponsorship deal and believe me I have plenty of other things I could spend the money on! So instead of everybody arguing about this, that, and the other thing just come out and race, I know I will when I get my car done.

Re: The new BIR payout
Hay Mike
How is it going? I think quite a few of the stocker guys may do just that. On another note: NO ONE HERE EVER SAID BRACKET RACERS ARE LOWLY! You know good and well I raced in brackets with my old car. And now that I am getting a handle on my new one I will again. See you in staging! By the way: YOU ONLY HAVE 64 DAYS LEFT UN-TILL THE BIR OPENER So.... get your cars ready lets GO RACE AND HAVE SOME FUN !!!!!!!!!!!! See ya! Glen Demenge Quote:

Re: The new BIR payout
For the last time, $1200 ISN'T bad at all....it's the 33 cars to get that payout which is conserning to those that have raced at BIR in the past. I personally like to know what I'm racing for before I pull into the gate.
Glen & Ron P are working on the lower car count payout...so, that's good enough for me. Eric----THANKS! for adding to the payout in the form of a Series Sponsorship. And for the record, I am talking with a couple of my sponsors to see if they are willing to do something as well. YES!!! Spring Get here soon! |
Re: The new BIR payout
I know you did Glen along with Terry Johnson, Scott Dugdale, Brett Speer and the Lines, im just giving you a hard time. I will call you about lettering for the wagon soon, its time to get my nephew Kellys name of my car.
