Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
Does anyone know who owns the Beretta that Sal ran in 1st round of SS in this video above? My dad use to drive this car before he passed away last fall.
Thanks Aaron Disinger 327y gt/ha |
Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
Irvin Johns owns the car. Todd Frantz is driving.

I have until Monday April 11,1:00 PM Pacific time. I like holding onto my money as long as I can. With only 39 cars, I can wait until the last minute.

Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
yo ken.. is it just me or does sal leave incredibly early on the tree considering its a fast modified car? i watched it over and over and even in my car i feel like i would be around -.040 leaving at that point, but like i said.. that might just be me.. i know someone will prob bust my chops for posting this

Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
Bubba, good question, you will have to ask Sal. Maybe its video thing, the resolution on these camera's are low and it maybe the distortion you see. It also could be the converter being so lose, I know he takes a bump sometimes.
By the way, congrats are that stellar performance in Valdosta and Gainesville. It was well deserved for a gentleman as yourself. |
Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
I'm too busy shifting 2nd gear to be moving blinders out of the way (since I am doing more than just holding on to the steering wheel after I leave the starting line) Thank goodness for that BIG RED button and the robot shifter...lol

Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
I guess you don't understand my comment and your welcome!

Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
Sean, I think Joe understood your comment very well, as do I. The purpose of the thread was to give everyone a look what we do as racers going down the track. Sal was kind enough to send me his in car video.
When you choose words like "big red button" - "robot shifter" - "lol" in that context, what do you think people are going to say? Its very hard to judge the tone of someones post, so choosing the right words when typing is something we all should be aware of. |

Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
If you freeze-frame it at about 1:10 (No Problem video), you'll see that the last yellow is solidly on and Sal's finger has not moved. It looks to be a dead-last-yellow leaving car to me. Not surprising, as I'm sure the Biondo's aren't rookies when it comes to knowing how to set up the car to do that. Also, the video is so small by comparison, that I think you see LESS than what you'd actually see through the window of the car.
Thanks Sal and Ken for the fast ride. Jerry |
Re: In Car Cam From Gatornationals and Cajun Sportnationals
I watched both over and over and the car reacts precisely to his release of the button. What's odd is how well he knows the rollout. It looks as though the car is moving both up, and forward well before the green. If this car is the Olds I know it's a short front tire car and wonder how he doesn't go red with such fast momentum.
