Terry Emmons Ride

Had I known that you did not have a ride in Stock @ Houston, I would have let you drive the '69 car..

Mine's available also. I will bring it to you if you haven't found a ride. Of course Terry might not remember how to drive a small block anymore. Just kidding!! Terry, if I can help anyway just call me. You have my number.
Bobby, how did you learn that he needed a ride?

Bobby Brannon 04-26-2011 08:18 PM

Encourage you to ensure you have a good consistent car and attend a Scotty Richardson or Luke Bogacki school....you need a resume to score a ride (and luck of course). If you don't have a racing license then Frank Hawley's school is unmatched since he goes into the mental side of racing as well (concentration, visualization, etc).

treekiller 04-28-2011 11:27 AM

Re: Terry Emmons Ride

I appreciate the advice jim my main problem is I can't afford the gas to get to or the entry fees to get into these resume races I have a good consistent car but I deal w some tough ***** customers at npr and they have a very irregular racing schedule which means not very often and baton rouge is always running when I work (every other sat) so seat time is hard for me to come by when gas is 3.75 and on the way up sounds like a lot of excuses I know. Just a shot in the dark

Re: Terry Emmons Ride

Treekiller, I'm not trying to be a dick, but I would encourage you to attend regular school before drag racing school. Your post is hard to get through without separating sentences. That's not going to attract anyone who is successful enough in life to have an extra car and money laying around to give away. I'm just saying.

It is good advice. Btw, I'm doing this from my iPhone and I can still capitalize and use commas and periods. More good advice, Don't text and drive.

I've already made it. Remember, I'm where you're trying to get, and driving a delivery truck (putting your company at risk at the same time by texting)and begging for a ride isn't going to get you here. Now I'm trying to be a dick.

treekiller 04-29-2011 07:45 AM

Re: Terry Emmons Ride

Its working. You are doing a fantastic job at it. Just hope that I don't make it like you seemingly already are.

Re: Terry Emmons Ride

Treekiller, I admire your spunk and desire to become a hired driver. However, you need a resume of muptiple time track champ or something to back up your claims. Going by your title you may be putting too much credit on you tree killing abilities. The really top notch drivers are awesume finishline drivers. The Emmons, Helms, Biondo, Fletcher, etc. will beat you even if they don't have the best light. There is much that goes into being a winning driver and until you have mastered all aspects no one will want to put you in the driver's seat of a $30,000 plus race car.
Best of luck with your efforts. It's difficult to convince someone you are that top notch driver. It's like getting experience in anything. You can't get the job with out experience and you can get experience with the job.

Somebody put me behind the wheel of your $30,000 plus investment, I promise I won't be totally reckless with it like my company's vehicle. - Treekiller

Damn Hagen your good. Your not to bad either treekiller.

treekiller 04-29-2011 10:19 AM

Re: Terry Emmons Ride

Treekiller was a name given to me by someone who I beat up on for awhile years ago w a string of good lights. I don't claim to have won anything of any significance to you people and I do not think I am better than anyone here. Furthermore I am not trying to be a hired driver I said I would drive for free and I meant it. All that I have done is log on here w an apparently offensive screen name and ask someone to give an unknown , unaccomplished racer a shot which must be absolutely unheard of in you peoples world. Oh and I did it in a grammatically incorrect way. Btw MR.GARY I am parked safety man.

Re: Terry Emmons Ride

Treekiller,

I myself had a hard time reading/understanding your initial post due to many run-on sentences. I believe all that Mr. Gary was pointing out was that being able to compose a paragraph that someone can understand is important if you wish to apply for a future driving position. I admire your hunger in wanting to get behind the wheel of a potential class car as I am in the first steps of building one myself. One thing you need to accept is a little positive feedback and not wear your heart on your sleeve.

Re: Terry Emmons Ride

When you start off a post by saying "go to school before driving school" it doesn't become constructive because you say I'm not trying to be a dick.

Just some thoughts for you. 1 People don't want the wheels drove off their car. You may want to change the way you phraze that next time. 2 you may want to start by offering to crew for a team for free and work your way into the drivers seat. Not saying either of these things will get you a seat but it would give you a better shot.

treekiller,
Maybe you could just go to the track and hijack somebody's ride like you did this thread?

At least your name isn't treehugger,LOL.

Sorry for having made an attempt to invade your world which according to recent car counts is getting SMALLER and SMALLER. If these are the type of people you gotta deal w to be in this, then no thanks. Peace

Actually I started off the post with "I'm not trying to be a dick". That was to clue you into what I was about to say was not ment to be taken with a dickish tone. I was just poking fun at you and giving you advice at the same time. I guess I can't expect you to focus on what your reading while driving a four ton truck and doing your best not to plow through a school bus.
