Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
well its a sunny thursday morning here at Lakes at the Indy. I've never seen anything like it, line started to move and people clear in back, moved over and made a second lane, and passed abot 30 rigs that already had been there already. We will see what they have available on other side when we get in.
ps alcohol car decided they was going to have their rig washed just back from gate getting into pits, blocked everything up, "Come On Man "!!! |
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
Sounds about like what we figured! Hope you have your rubber booties on!!

Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
well parking is going on, we was lucky enough to be parked by the restaurant behind big bleachers with asphalt parking for us.
Rigs are finding spots on the road course, but make sure you walk your area before going into it. there is more then 125 rigs here already, more on the other side then this side. |
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
rigs keep coming in as testing started about 1 today, couple of runs i seen 9.63 from Daddy Warbuck car, Greg Hill 10.88 and Rich has made 2 runs 9.75 then a 9.65 136 at GTFA weight but we will run GT/EA this weekend again with a few more pounds out of it.
Right now at 230 we are on hold for light showers and try again later on. |
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.

Good luck this weekend. |

Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
It took us about 5.5 hours to to make the trip from our place. The wind was pretty stiff from the SSW all the way down, with rain off and on the whole way. My dually got 6.5 MPG but that will improve when I get a cap and wing on it,and it gets fully broken in.
We are pitted next to Rock and Jenny Running on the west side next to the fence and the ground is squishy. There was a L/SA Mutang in tech that I did not recoginize. I wonder how long it will take before these cars are moved up 4 or 5 classes. There was a fair amount of cars waiting to make a pass in T & T when we left at 6:30. They must have had some pity on the people that paid for the session and decided to extend it. More tomorrow. More tomorrow. |
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
Mike,
Don't want to burst your bubble but that mileage won't improve much better than 7.5 - 8. None of my gas trucks did even with the extras you are looking to add. Quote:

Thanks, Mike. Looking forward to you and Nitro's reports.
Good luck! -Toby |
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
should be interesting in the morning as they tried their hardest to get the track hooking right, but I'm seeing "Groundhog Day" again, if you remember my post about cold weather vs the traction compound being used lately at events.
More news in the am, plus I'll let you know what ralph is wearing to the wedding at 4am, hope he shaves his legs if he wears that purple dress. |
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
Joe, are they trying VP Trackbite? I know a track that did for a whole. Cars that need wheel speed ( stick cars) seem to like it OK, stuff like ours did not. Might be a long summer if it is.

Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
top of the morning as its a cold one here this morning, SS/T then Stock, SG & SS is the first 4 classes up, also seen they are going to make the first 3 pairs in eliminations that last 3 qualifiers and their dancing partners be first out in SS & Stock, maybe start to stop the darn lallygagging that always goes on.
Pits are filling up fast with a lot of rigs coming in this morning. Hope to update later on. |

I'm not there. Jody is there though. First time he's been there since 2007. Last time I was there was in 2007 also and that was the first time since 1999. I went in 2007 because Jody had purchased his first Freightliner. Usually I would tow with mom from Vegas to Boise with mom driving Jody's dually. We'd get Jody's rig in line and she would stay in my trailer over night, then I would go home the next morning. I kind of needed the divisional that year and I didn't want mom trying to drive the freightliner home so I decided to stay and race. On the way to Boise a tensioner pulley on Jody's rig went out causing the belt to break. I went to a truck repair shop in Wells, NV and they ordered the part. When the part got there the next day it was the wrong one, so we had to wait another day for it. We got to Boise on Thursday and had to park in the lower level in the back. The back row was totally open, but they just had to squeeze us in between other rigs because they were "saving those spots for long motorhomes should they happen to come." It wasn't that bad, but I wasn't too happy about it. And of course, nobody parked in that row all weekend. I don't think I will ever go back to Boise again. The size of the rigs has out grown the facility. On the upper level they park the rigs about five feet apart and make you pit out the back. Looks like a can of sardines. :) -Toby |

Hey its raining this morning and in honest reporting, its not looking good at all weather wise, The "Over the Hill Ohio Gang" has left the building, lol
Hope they can get it in sometime tonight. Should of ran one more round last night, but oh well. |
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
Might be out of touch after 40 years, cna you really be DQ'd for being 200;bs heay??? Ran points meet at Reading last year and was 400 lbs heavy and nothing was said. Had to run AF/S beecause hadn't added weight to be in BF/S.
|
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
Not a set #. If you're heavy enough for the next class, you must claim that class. ie., min *and* max weights.
|
Re: Live from Indy, ocean front property available.
Gothcha. Forgot there was IHRA race at Piedmont, sitting at home watching TV. Stupid.
