Midwest Super Comp Joliet 5-14

Can someone (Bill?) tell me what the program is for the MWSC race at Joliet next weekend? Do people come up Friday night? Are we allowed to stay Saturday night? Run schedule?

Thanks very much!

Hi Guys!
The program is two to three qualifying passes competition laddered by the numbers you post on the last qualifyer. The track is closed Friday night so no one comes Friday night,
They will open usually a little before 9:00 Saturday. You will be allowed to stay Saturday night if you want to bracket race on Sunday.
Run schedule is determined by the track as is the number of qualifying passes we are allowed.

What you didn't ask was the costs The track will charge you $15 a head at the gate and $25 for a run card. MWSCS will ask $100 for entry. The 100% payout starts with the first round winners and of course goes up from there with the winner's / RU payout dependent on the number of cars entered.
We will let you know the final round payout at the meeting after the last quailfier where we pair up at.

You do not need to be a member to race with us!

"The Midwest Super Comp Series friends you haven't met yet!

If you have any questions you can call me @ 815-458-3178 or one of the other board members listed on the contacts section of the web site.

P.S If you coming up (north) on I55 there is construction at Kankakee River bridge Mile marker 240 so I would suggest that you get off at the Gardner exit 227 turn right, go thru Gardner to RT 53 (turn left on 53 at the stop sign in front of the high school) and follow RT 53 straight through Braidwood, Wilmington, Elwood and to the race track.

Bill, Thanks for the info. Is $140 more than you usually charge? I can't remember what I paid last year. Do you have any idea what time the first qualifier would be if they open at 9:00am?

MWSC entry is 100 bucks. The extra money goes to the track. 66 is usually the highest: 15 for spectator fee and 25 for the run card. I think Byron was 20 last year for car and driver. I dont remember the other tracks. MWSC website is showing first time run at approximately 11am with the 2nd run about 12:15.

Yep that's about right, Rt 66 raised their run card from $20 to $25 and their spectator from $10 to $15 and they are the highest.

I'm sure someone already asked the track this but I am just curious why they wouldn't let the MWSCA run on Sunday also. They are already having a bracket race, surely they don't have so many cars they couldn't work the S/C guys in? Just sounds crazy to me. As long as the weather looks favorable we are planning on coming up for the day. I am looking forward to it. Right now the weather is pretty questionable. With fuel prices as high as they are we are really watching the weather. Can't afford to drive somewhere to watch it rain.

Well we, or more correctly Qwas, tried several times to make a business case for them allowing us to race Sunday as well but it was no dice.

My guess is that they don't want to upset their bracket racers and or it's more profitable for the track if we super comp racers race their bracket race on Sunday. ($70 vs.$25)

Let's hope the weather's good! See ya there!

i may not go to norwalk and bring the new car to joliet to play

Re: Midwest Super Comp Joliet 5-14

Bill, I have never understood how they run that place. I would think they would rather have us run with the Bracket program than by ourselves. That would make more sense to me, but then again what do I know. I don't run a race track. :)

See you all there.

Well Saturday they are open for test and tune (not just for us) so allowing us to race on Saturday brings in 25-30 more cars. with an average of 3-4 more people per car.

I honestly don't know, Usually, If that happens that would be up to the racetrack and the remaining racers. As far a "double" RT66 does not allow you to enter two different races with the same car on the same day so the answer is no.
(Boy I'm doing a wonderful job of encouraging people today!):(

You can enter both, just not with the same car. I know.......it sucks, I have lobbied for allowing us to enter both, but the track will have no part of it.

Re: Midwest Super Comp Joliet 5-14

That makes my decision easier. Unless it is decided before saturday that they will roll over till sunday for the weather and race... will not come... Every other NHRA Track you can double....Some races you can triple enter!!!! Super Quick, SC, and Bracket race... Hmm....

Lose money in a tough times economy....

Concerned

I hear ya, RT 66 is the only place that we race at that does not allow mulitple entries.
For what it's worth we (the MWSC) do allow racers to bracket race and race with us as well.
