Monday Morning Misguided Mopar Maladies

So the trusty 345 CID 5.7Hemi will be 401, from 305. The 6.1 is 404 already, and the new 392 6.4 is 399. So the 2009 5.7, 6.1 and the 2010 5.7 and 6.1 are now natural AA/SA cars, heads up with the 512 V10 (not to mention several Catfish looking Mustangs and a few LS1's , several fast old cars Shaul, DeFrank etc also). That's pretty good planning. The 5.7 and 6.1 are gone from B/SA. The 6.4 is a natural A/SA so it can still get to B.

Well that didn't take long now did it?

They never should have been in stock ELIMINATOR in the first place, can't register them to drive on the street.. Kind of a common rule, don't you think?

Let them run FACTORY EXPERIMENTAL WITHIN STOCK...

Let's not let thieves flounder in our Wally Parks world any longer, eh?

Now...off to beat up a 9 year old...It's a lot of fun, I'm sure you agree. ;)

Fuller, whatever you are sniffing in that picture had long lasting damage in it. And beat up an 11 year old.

Yes, Keith Lynch has his Drag Pak running very well, and should be very proud of his hard work and his success.

Sounds pretty much like defamation coming from a high profile guy like yourself...Did you forget to add "I think" or in my humble opionion?

Ridicule of this type is in my opinion the type used to distract from the opening conflict of interest... In other words, the DP'S AND CJ'S are as much a stock ELIMINATOR car as the Earth is the center of the universe...

Can you put a "dealer" plate on the DP's to drive them on the street?

The mask is for the new car smell BTW. Ever smell that before? It's overwhelmimg! :)

;)

Will the stories change when the 425 new cars sold by Ford and Mopar really get out there? I guess there was no net so this could play out in 64, 65 and 68 or any other time special cars appeared. Anyway they are here. Sorta like a late-in-life baby. You know, I have one of them too. And you do know I have a long sense of humor.

Hey Jeff, in 1969 when the 427cu 425 hp Camaro came out it was the end of the world and in 1970 the 454cu 450hp it also was the end........

Re: Monday Morning Misguided Mopar Maladies

There is a proposal for quicker classes for next year for stock & ss. The new cars will wander there, probably pretty quick looking at the situation. There has been talk of FX classes, or STK/FX1, 2 & 3 etc., but part of Stock Eliminator. Maybe take the proposal for 6.0, 6.5, and 7.0 and call them FX or something. SS needs a 5.5 class.

Ed Wright 06-13-2011 05:13 PM

Re: Monday Morning Misguided Mopar Maladies

They can still run SS where the bogus hp factors still exist.

Jeff, NHRA could have gotten off their duff and introduce Top Stock a long time ago. I love the drag packs and cj's but I feel for the racer who's been flogging his 440-6 pack for years to finally gets close but no cigar .Will we see a Fiat or Ferrari motor in the DP's of the futur.lol Thanks for your involvement, keep up the good work. Claude

Okay, what cars should be allowed to run in these proposed FX classes?

DP and CJ only or would anything be allowed?

Would there be a year limit?

What modifications (if any) would be allowed?

Claude, you may have struck on something there............ If Fiat-Chrysler, Ford and GM would just do the paperwork to get every vehicle they make certified for Stock/Super Stock, instead of just the "special manufacture" vehicles we've gotten for the last few years, things might get interesting! RWD Fiat 500 conversion anyone? Cadillac CTS-V?:D

Stewart, I got one, but it will be in the new red Challenger with a stick shift. F/S probably. Trying to make Indy, but we may put a 6.1 in it and go to A/S or maybe a 392 and go to B/S. It's really red. Under the hood, under the car, inside the doors, every part of it is red.

Jeff...In Orlando, we ran outta beer at 3:00pm. We ran outta wine after supper at 6:00pm. We made Margarettas. (sp?) Ran out at 8:00pm. Switched to straight Jose, ran out at 10:00pm. Hopkins went blind, said he couldn't see at Midnight. I did my best cajun crawl to bed, woke up naked with 18# of beads on me in my Motorhome. I do not want to hear about Cheap Shots.!!!!!!

Jeff, just think if the 5.7 used 5.7 heads instead of those lazy 6.1 heads. That would throw out the "no replacement for displacement" theory. I knew all along that the 5.7 could make more power than the 6.1. Too bad the 5.7's came with the 6.1 heads.
