Great pictures Dion. Can you tell me if the 2010 Mustang running in SS/BA is the same car that was in Spokane running AA/SA? Just curious. Good luck to you.

Re: rocky mountain Nitro jam

no it is not ,this one is out of Dewinton and Rob Blair is his name,,the one in Spokane was Darrel Dietz out of Medicine Hat

Re: rocky mountain Nitro jam

Congrats to Sheldon Erfle in super stock and Mark Faul in stock. We started on a 1/4 mile track and finished on an 1/8 mile, there was rain , hail, hot , cold, sun and clouds, but all in all it was a great time put on by the IHRA. Its not official but Mark may well have won the Pro-am title in stock as well as Jared in super stock and congratulations for that as well.

Dion you rock and we had a great time as always in Canada. Although the rain was an inconvenience for racers, fans, IHRA sponsors , etc. it gave us all a lot of time to swap stories. I learned one thing from my Canadian brethren this week-end "Never let the truth stand in the way of good story!!

In the words of Larry Rush, the famed philosopher and Salt Lake super stock racer, I had'nt had that much fun since the hogs ate my brother!!

Congratulations to all class winners and thanks to all for the great week-end! I look forward to crossing paths in the future!!

Re: rocky mountain Nitro jam

It was another Marathon weekend at Castrol with Both Mark and Sheldon doing a great job of driving. As well I would assume Mark won stock and Jared won Super Stock for the new Division, great job for the both of them. It was great to see cars come from long distances to take part, there was a great group of Class Racers. Hopefully next year other racers will follow along with Mark and Paul and take advantage of good payouts and the double header format.

As far as the Mustang Bob I am not sure but I think it was a different car but they kind of all look the same. Sure ran fast for poor air and a substantial head wind, if it was a stocker WOW they are factored a little low!!!

Thanks for taking the time to post the photos Dion and hope to see you in the Hat.

Thanks Dion,, for taking the time to do this,,,its very appreciated. We had a National Open at Bremerton this past weekend, and were missing a few of the stockers and superstockers and now I see why,,they were up there with you guys.
Sorry you guys had weather issues, but glad everyone had a good time. Take care.

Dion,

Great shots and thanks for all the little update stories. You could be the "Western Canadian" Jack Matyas, Toby Lang or Larry and Patsy Hill. Isn't technology a wonderful thing!

In addition, it was nice to talk to you regarding the "state of the nation" regarding Stock and Super Stock racing. You are doing what I always wanted to do, run a Stock or Super Stock car. Something about all the work to make a car competitive and live with the thought of a tear down is not my idea of relaxing at the racetrack. I know, I know we could run a "hoodscoop" car and not have to worry about tear down but that would too much fun, running to the bank for more funds every week.LOL! Now back to changing my timers.....

Congratulations on making your car competitive and good luck in your future racing endeavors!

Enjoy,

Mike

Dion,

Find me a good SS/CS car that won't break the bank and we will talk. LOL.

Would like to say thanks to all the Stock, SS and every other class that supported BME Photography again at the Rocky Mountain Nationals in 2011. We appreciate your business every year when we come out to cover the event for IHRA and provide photos to the all the drivers. We hope you liked your photos this year since we have been trying to go the extra mile in giving everyone something different than the normal shot this year. Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing everyone next year under better weather conditions!!

Mike,,, talk to Dan Cyr about his SS/CS '67 Chevy II. He had it at Bremerton this weekend, but it stayed in the trailer as he ran his A/SA '69 Camaro in the combo instead. Maybe he'd turn it loose for you.

Re: rocky mountain Nitro jam

Danny,

Thanks for the suggestion but we recently sold a '67 Chevy II. Looking for something a little more aerodynamic as my competition would include some major hitters running 9.20-9.30 elapsed times ie Mans and Bogner.

Something like a late '90 ish Camaro. Ex-Comp world champ Coleman Roddy is running a car like this with a Nickens small block although it may not be a C legal car. Saw it on a internet based site like Max Chevy.

Hey Brian,

For some reason we didn't get a photo from you this year. Was looking at the IHRA site and I see you haven't posted the photos as of yet.

Any way you can check as I would purchase one from you?

Re: rocky mountain Nitro jam

Mike,

I don't post anything on IHRA's site, they just do it at random, but I only had one shot of you from the weekend. I shot Friday and it looked like you were having a problem with the car leaving and I think I shot one Saturday and it appeared to be the same thing as if it was launching before you wanted to leave. Anyway, I can send you a proof of it if you like, but I didn't think you would want the one I had, so I didn't print it up since the wheels were not off the ground. Drop me your email if you would like me to send it. Thanks

Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Shhhhh you weren't supposed to tell anybody we were having problems LOL. Yes, a carb glitch kept us from having a stellar weekend but that's in the past now.

You can send me what you have at mtferstl@shaw.ca

Just want to keep our string of your yearly shots intact.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Bryan,

Wasn't that you who was the photographer out at San Antonio that took the shot of my car that now adorns my profile? Cool photo, and thanks to you and yours for the best shot of my car ever (if it was you guys that is)!!!

Thanks Dion for the great photos, from up there in Edmonton, I wish I had a passport, and lived closer to the area, so I could've attended it as well?

Again congrats to you Mark for your Stock win...and good luck to you in the World Finals in Virginia!!! :)
