Looking for my 68 camaro
My brother Lance is looking for his 68 camaro. Car was purchased from Ed Bednez in 1986, raced as a A/S and B/S until 1997 when it was sold to Ed Kozil who then sold it to Checkmate dudes out in Michigan. It was metallic purple/ blue (prematic paint) with white pearl and yellow/red stripes. If any one has information please post or private email.
Thanks; Joe DeMarzo |

Joe, your old car is now owned by former Super Gas champ Vince Khoury. Mike keener sold it to him about 7 years ago...Luke SS 311

Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
Thank you all, spoke to Mike Keener and he is going to reach out to Vince Khoury for us. Anyone have any pictures i s it the same paint scheme? Exciting stuff, thanks again.

Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
That was a bad car. Lance and Joe, along with Andy Kinash were some of the first people that we met when we started racing back in 1993. I will never forget that car.
|
Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
Brian, yes that was one fast car. First stocker to go 130mph (at a IHRA race at Atco) then Lance, Ficacci, Bednez, Beard, Keener, Paul Mecure and Big Y all had great battles in A/S back in the 90's. I think he has the bug again.... Remind me to tell the time I took it for a shake down run...lol

Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
i was in the other lane when he ran the 130+
nice guy lance and joe |
Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
I remember that car from when my dad and I first started. I have a nice pic of it when it was still silver/gray. The pic is at my dad's house, I'll have to try and dig it up.

Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
I was at Paul Mercure's shop when the motor was just removed out of that Hot Rod and Paul started tearing the motor down...the car was sold as a rolling chassis and from what i understand it's not cut up (narrowed rear or God forbid turned into a Super Gas car)...Luke SS 311

Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
Hey Joe, didn't they write a song about that guy, Lance Who?
Oh yeah, it was called "Rocketman"... Joe, remember when Lance was racing and the shift knob came off and he finshed and won the race using the shift lever, sans the knob?? That knob sold for $3,000 on Ebay. Actually I don't think there was an Ebay, back then!!! LOL... I hope he gets "his" car back!! Jimmie C. |
Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
Good to see the old guys, Bednez-Miele-Hanley-Maytas-Ficacci-Roberts-Lynch-Molle, Disappointed I didn't see Cottell-Atkins-Conte's-Johnny Williams- Miss :( my old friends Lou Vignogna & John Gunn, miss Lou lecturing me & his laugh - miss John calling me Cop-er & telling me to shut up... Jimmy - Richie Atkins B/S gave me the name Rocketman at Atlanta in 87...

Re: Looking for my 68 camaro
I remember the time in FL when one said Lance took a very young and naive drag racer (me) to a well known Univ of FL sports bar. While sitting at the sunken bar... things got interesting when a group of football players started buying Lance & I drinks. Being the gentleman that Lance and I are, we had no option but to reciprocate the gesture. This went on for a few hours and I ended up waking up in a strange condominium (versus my hotel room). To say it was a very interesting evening would be a grave understatement! But I am confident Lance has become more reserved as he has aged? not too likely!
LookN forward to catchN up Coppah! |
