2009 #90 drag pak Challenger value.......

I came across a cool car today that's for sale locally in an estate sale and was wondering about it's actual true value. I'm talking true todays money, not yesterdays fantasy money. It's just as it came from Mopar with it's trailer wheels and roller straight rear axle. It's # 90 and comes with a few parts such as a new Turbo action trans/converter and and something that appears to be an electronic shift computer/box ??. It appears to have a new Dana 60 center section in a box with no axle tubes ??? Has another box of new stange axles, a set of four Bogart wheels with no tires and a few other boxes that I didnt open.

I need to know the TODAY value of this car. The owner had supposedly 52k invested in the car and parts. Unfortionately this is one of those deals that needs to happen fast, so please Educate me quickly !!!

Thanks.....

Bob

Seems like those cars sold for around 40k from the factory. Took a bunch more to make it a race car.

Greg is about right, those came unfinished and he could have easily have 52 in the car.

The 50x 10's were 39995, The 100x 09s 3000 less I think and had heavier Viper seats. I'd say what it's worth IF YOU want it and double that to build out a top runner:eek:

Sorry the pics are so small ???

Computers aint my thing LOL ....

The car appears to have a manual trans in it ??? It also has Mark Williams discs on the front. I'll know more tomorrow, I think the magic number is 30-35k.

That is a 6.1 motor. There should be a large box of wiring ( no wiring was on the cars, it was in the truck and use what you need), the wheels about $1500 to $2k depending on which Bogarts, Ahe center with no tubes might be a kit to make it yourself. It should have M/W brakes on the front, plastic windows which are probably down, I'm sending you a PM.

Hi Bob. I saw it too. Are you going to go to the auction Sunday? I noticed in the sale pictures a Moroso sticker on the oil pan. Is that the way they came? I also thought that it was a stick trans in the car but only saw a brake and trottle pedal. I wonder what the reserve is set at.

Re: 2009 #90 drag pak Challenger value.......

The trans is a warranty core just used for shipping. It is junk.

Re: 2009 #90 drag pak Challenger value.......

Moroso race pan is standard on that car. What might be in those boxes could really move the price around. It should have Viper seats in it, a small switch panel, and where is the hood. That is a pricey peace if it's not there.

On the auction site the hood is there in the pictures. Should be a fun auction will have to see when I get there.

Hey Ken, Yup..... I'll be there. Are you going ??? I heard all the stories today about the one of one special ordered blah, blah, blah. I believe the starting price is decent, especially if you were looking to build one for yourself.

If you buy it around 25K and put another 65K into it, you will be ahead of the game.

However, I have a lot more than that in Drag Pak #24. Some of it was wasted, but most of it went into making it strong enough to be VERY competetive.. But if I had it to do over again, at this point, I would buy the Viper motor drag pak at around $90K and just go raicing instead of investing/wasting six months to year in getting that car to the track.

If you just want to make a few dollars and plan to sell it immediately and make a few dollars, if you can get it right, their may be a chance to make a few bucks on it.

As usual, this is just my opinion, and your mileage may vary.

I had thought about that too David... But I wanted the old school V8 race engine audio and lift off hood, instead of the odd firing Euro V10 sound. Plus the satisfaction of choosing the parts & finishing the build out myself..but either way it's all good:D

I'm not going because I promised to help a good friend with some testing at Atco. I got your PM and I think that the starting bid might be decent but depending on who's there will determine the sale price, if any.

The car didn't sell. Stopped at $20K and didn't meet the reserve from what I understand.

While I was there I couldn't help thinking that sometimes people think that wealth makes you immune to the unplesentries of life. It's not so.We all should be thankful for what we got.The owner had a beautiful home and property filled with many toys and comforts. That all ended abruptly. It's sad.
Sorry for the dose of reality. It's just they way my mind is wired.

Frankly the ad was pretty confusing to me, about what you really get with that car. I read the ad again and see that you all of the parts in the pictures..

But the price is finally getting down to where it may actually get a buyer.

Heck, a few thousand less, and I might actually pop for it. Or not.
