Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Thought I'd start the thread a little bit early with a few pics.
Lawn mowers? We don't need no stinkin' lawn mowers! http://i25.fastpic.ru/big/2011/0719/...71f47f8d9a.jpg http://i26.fastpic.ru/big/2011/0719/...265c0e1cad.jpg |

Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
I remember, many years ago, those (probably not the same ones) cows were like clockwork, they came down the hill the same time everyday and back over it the same time in the afternoon.

Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Aren't those sheep and not cows? I still have sheep poop on my shoes from being out there last year!

Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Toby,
Thanks for all the videos and pictures over the past few years. Your work is excellent. It helps us old retired racers keep up with things. Looking forward to seeing everybody this weekend. Scott |

Good on ya ! |
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Sally said around noon tomorrow.
Nice to see you on here, Jim. You need to post more often. :) -Toby |
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Toby, Do we know what time they will stop parking tomorrow?
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Not sure about that, Dave. I would imagine 5 or 6. I will ask tomorrow morning and post it.

Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
OK, what am I doing wrong. I get little squares with X's in them instead of pictures. Maybe the Swamp People 'Chooted'em'. Help please.
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
I won't be there until noon, 1 o'clock tomorrow. That means I'll probably be parking with the sheep. Sigh...
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Toby,
As Scott Loge said, thank you for the postings and video's, it makes not being there in person a bit easier. |

Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Hi Toby,
I noticed on the schedule that there will be testing today at Sonoma..... If you are bored today would you consider getting some video of the SS cars testing today... I think that a few of my friends will be at the track today.... Thanx, Bob PS: Since the video work that you have been posting is professional quality I was wondering if you would do us all a favor and retire from driving????????????? |
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Your wish is my command, Bob.
Here's Mike Cotten making his first test 'n' tune run. I assume he got the front end in the air a little more than he liked: |

Thanks Toby....
you da man!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bob |
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
The left lane was oiled down so they used the right.
Rich Pinoski does a nice wheelie at the end and does a great job of keeping it off the wall. |
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Great videos, does not look like there was much traction out there.
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Toby,thanks for the great videos!
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
I talked to Paula Cotten today and she said Mike got on the wheelie bars and it unloaded the tires.
The McClanahan's got into a wheelie dual and I'm pretty sure Ryan won. :) I missed the first two pairs. I was working on the Whale plus we are pitted pretty far from the starting line. I will try to do better next time. |
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Toby, the qualifing sheet shows a '10 mustang in E/SA. What powerplant would that car have?
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
That is a 352, which is really a 351
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
I would imagine it's powered by a 352, the same combination Chris Holbrook ran with a Cobra Jet last year in E/SA in Div. 3.
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
I was told that the 352 is actually a bored and stroked 302. Sounds more like Competition Eliminator than Stock Eliminator.
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
That what it is!
|
Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
The 352 is a new Boss 302 block with a 3.400 stroke, 4.060 bore. It uses the Z304 aluminum heads with a nice roller cam. The 428 is a tall deck 302 with a 4.080 bore - 4.100 stroke, same heads but a bigger cam. They both use the same 4 hole throttle body like the Mopar uses. Wish I had one. Dyno

Re: Live from the Sonoma LODRS
Thanks for the videos. Enjoy watching them. I think Charlene and I goofed however and should have gone to Sonoma for both races. Good luck in eliminations and will see you in Seattle.
