Re: STK Class at Martin
Fastest car in each class on the final qualifying sheet run wins class.

Re: STK Class at Martin
Charlie, according to the posted schedule "Stock Class winners will be determined from final qualifying position"

Re: STK Class at Martin
That's the way they have been doing it this year....

Re: STK Class at Martin
It's definitely more fun actually lining up against competitors in your own class, but I'm sure it's a time issue. It's certainly better than not having it all.

Re: STK Class at Martin
It kinda takes away the chance of beating a competitor that may be faster than you by having a better light or other situations that occur. You are right though ,it is better than not having it at all...........It's all for fun anyway ,,,,,Right?????

Re: STK Class at Martin
I'm not planning on going to Martin, but if I was,it would be tough to turn down the entry for a $5000 to win bracket race for less entry fee than the chance to win Stock for $1200 and hardly any contingency. That it a good payout for a bracket race with Box and No Box separated until the final.I guess you can enter if you lose first round in Stock or Super Stock. Some may want to keep that in mind.

Re: STK Class at Martin
As per usual I will be arriving late on Thursday night but I cannot view the schedule. Does anyone know when they close the gates Thursday then re-open on Friday?
Also, there was supposed to be super stock class at Grand Bend but I didn't hear a word about it. The class program may be extinct. |
Re: STK Class at Martin
gates are open Thursday from 10am to 10 pm.....gates open at 8 am to 9pm on Friday.....
first round of TT at 10 am on Friday....I hope it doesn't rain on Saturday as I am flying to Speedweeks at Bonneville early Sunday. I am running my 69 Camaro this weekend in G/CM for the first time. Phil |
Re: STK Class at Martin
Thank you, Phil. See you Friday am and if you have your rulebook for the Timing Assoc I'd like to take a peek at it for a small cube roadster I have been dreaming of. Ty

Ty:
They did have Super Stock class at Grand Bend, even though the schedule printout said Stock class runs were being contested. I had to go to the tech trailer and ask for my plaque, but they said there were no pictures. There was no contingency money for class, just the plaque. I would email Mike Baker at IHRA if you want your plaque. Better get your plaque now, because I highly doubt IHRA will run class after this season. Bill Lent O/SA 3158 SS/OA 3159 |
Re: STK Class at Martin
I will take the 2011 SCTA rules and records-dry lakes speed trials rulebook with me. I plan on taking my 99 Z-28 to Bonneville in three years. Right now it is a bracket car that is raced at US 131 every week. You'll see it this weekend, look at the cage in the VENOM sponsored race car. Getting it ready for Bonneville. See you there.
Another person from Holland, MI is taking a 91 Corvette with a 302 high winding Chevy engine and hopes to set a new 200 mph plus record. He left for Bonneville yesterday. Phil |
Re: STK Class at Martin
I heard that Mike Keener was at the Northern's in Martin last year with one of the Checkmate cars. Does anyone know if any of the cars will be there this year? I will go for that reason alone, my all-time favorite cars!!
