Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
Is no one live from the IHRA Race yet? I don't think a pure stock Mustang will go 10.86.
I believe that is an H/CM Mustang if I am not mistaken. |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
I'm glad you said something first...
I was considering all the horsepower that would receive in NHRA just for fun. |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
Beard's there . Maybe he will chime in a little while.
He' gonna be busy running stock , superstock and the MOSER shootout.... |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
Live Timing during Stock Q-2 shows it (car # 3548) as Charley Downing in D/FI. 12.10 Index, ran 10.86 and 10.92.

I think Greg Kline used to run an 84 Mustang in H/CM. You may remember it from Quaker City Mike. It was all black.

We're here in Martin. On the schedule, they posted only 2 runs for today, but they said they are going to give everyone a third run, which should start in an hour or so. The weather is pretty good, but not great. It was around 2000' for the first run and 2500' for the second.

Terry D/FI min weight for my CJ is 2788. I rolled across the scales at 3290, which puts me heavy for K/S or F/FI(you do the math). And you are still a ***** CLOWN bulid a car or travel back in time to the 1950's. You are a still joke.
|
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
Hope you run 1.50+ under at Indy. Your the joke for thinking your such a hot shot running one of the new cars thats about 4 or 5 classes to low. And Im not the only one who thinks this way. D##k Head.

Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?

Sorry for the shortage of reports. As DW said, I kept busy yesterday running two cars in three classes. It was make a run in Terry Knott's Stocker (Drove his Dart Sport years ago. He's got my old crate motor now), make a run in the Volare in Super Stock, download the run, make a time trial for the Moser Shootout in the Dart, come back and work on the EFI program, rinse n' repeat, with little time for anything else.
Moser Engineering once again treated us like kings (and queens). They put together a 32-car Shootout from amongst the top 4 in each class from 2010 points, plus 4 wild cards, all Div. Champs, with over $50,000 on the line: $500 to 1st Rnd losers, $22,500 to win! As always, they fed us a hearty catered meal (ironically from the restaurant Terry wanted to go to... Some place 'as seen on the Travel Channel') with incredible bbq ribs, chicken, baked beans, tater casserole, cookies, fudge cakes, and more. We also got reserved seats in front of the tower for speckle-tating. (Highlight I thought was the Fuel Altereds, 228mph.... "On purpose!". Actually, they ran surprisingly straight, but still cool, wicked looking cars). After being .005 and .006 off the trailer in Terry's car, I boned it horribly 1st rnd of the Moser Shootout, and was mathematically ineligible at the start vs Nick Folk's .007 bulb. I did get a chance to see the Denysenkos, Phil Veldheer, John Brown, and a few other northern brethren, and finally got to meet Greg and Andrew Hill in person. Great folks. Everyone did get an extra qualifying run yesterday, although I wish we would've run 1st Rnd instead. Some very heavy rain and thunderstorms came through this morning. They're to stay on top of things to expedite drying when we get a break, but it's already been announced that we're looking at just 1st rnd of Sportsman classes today, with the remainder to be run on Sunday. Maybe I'll take some "Jack Matyas" pics for ya! ;) |

Terry, If Chalie can run 1.20 under 500 lbs, heavy He may run 1.6 or 1.7 under. That's a fast car, But you can't blame him for looking soft combo, I think you hit a nerve, You guys need to fight nice ! lol |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
X tech man, got give CharlieBoob a break he's a from Southern Michigan boy close to being a Buckeye just a 180 off being a yuper, if he won as much at track as he thinks he has done here he would be bad. Dont forget he has read way to many of he's own press releases! A legend in his own lunch time. Come on CB show us how to win

Looks like they will run 1st round today and finish sunday..
supposed to start around 4 pm. |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
Well, we're done for the day with no rounds run after lots of rain and track drying. They said we're going to get a time run in the morning before eliminations.
Btw, Charlie may not have been number one, but I figure if he was in F/FI which is apparently what his weight was he should have been about 1.889 under, I don't think I could have competed with that lol |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
It's raining again and looking very very nasty to the west.
IHRA has been working to dry the track from this morning's round of storms and was just finishing up. So hurdle number 1 complete. Hurdle #2, the tower was hit mutiple times by lightening during this mornings nasty weather. The timing systems number one and two were both taken out by the lightening, they were setting up the third system but it was the track's system and so there was zero data in it. Even though the track was now dry, it would be at least another hour before the timing system would be ready. So, we are just being told that sportsman will run tomorrow. 9 am time run only so we can all get a hit on the new timing system, then eliminations and we will run to completion tomorrow. They are still going to try and get the pro show in tonight if possible, but if not they will also run tomorrow since this is the last event and "championships are on the line" whatever that means. We are done for the night. |

The lightening really was horrific and scary this morning. My poor dog Lucy was jumping out of her skin every time! We are lucky the very severe stuff this round appears to have split and gone both north and south. Hearing news of very severe weather and flooding in Grand Rapids area, just a half our north of here. |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
Good morning everyone.
Cloudy, overcast, and a head wind today. Just as we finished warming up the cars more precipitation so we are on hold again. |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
Here we go again.....
Hope it clears out so you all can get this deal in....... Jr may have to come home if this keeps up cause i am ready to see my grandson .They have been gone for 8 days now....enough is enough .....lol |
Re: Live from IHRA Northern Nitro Jam Martin MI Anyone?
Back to drying, projected hour and a half dry time. They did say they got parts for the timing system from Summit Motorsports Park though, and have the original computer and tree going, worked on it til 3am , so no time trial: straight into eliminations, which is more than fine!
