GT Engine Combo
I have a 68 camaro I am considering running in super stock. I am wanting to run it in one of the slower gt classes, is there a good combination for a 350 in one of these classes because I already have a short block.
Thanks Chris |

Why not build a 295/350 and run it in a traditional class? With factory heads, it's only factored at 317HP, and runs at 9.44 pounds per HP in SS/GA. I doubt you'll find a different 350 that will run competitively in GT. |
Re: GT Engine Combo
Put a 305 in it

Re: GT Engine Combo
1970 350 big 2bbl, small chamber heads , 250/233 GT/MA..11.75 index... Low enough for you?

Re: GT Engine Combo
I forgot about that combo Mark.... That would be a good one. Chris if you don't want to run a 2bbl then Adger is right go with a 305.

Re: GT Engine Combo
I can't remember which one, but one of the fuel infected 305's was way under rated at one time.

Re: GT Engine Combo
Dwight , I think so. The 69 is 233 also .Obviously stuck with that with a 69 body.
Somebody got the 70 hit a little, so it's out there somewhere. Adger, All the 305s are beat up pretty good for GT. Other option for GT/MA is the 283. As long as one is not afraid of rpm's, that'll work too. |

It is what it is,..like a 459 intake on a 283 ,right? |
Re: GT Engine Combo
1983 165/230 305 TBI
Cam is a little short as a stocker, good heads, no idea about the induction, but it uses a 2 hole TBI with 1.8 dia per hole. I'm sure it would work well on a SS type intake. 1989 220/235 305 PFI fits both stick and auto I like the 1983 TBI |
Re: GT Engine Combo
The 305 "dish" combos are not all that bad.

Re: GT Engine Combo
So to recap 3 possibilitys for a 350 flattop SS shortblock
1. 300 / 320(ish) many head #s 2. 255 / 294 Quadrajet {441 heads 69 model only } 3. 250 / 233 Lrg. 2 brl. .............." . ...Thanx Trevor . per http://www.nhraracer.com/ engine specifications |

Re: GT Engine Combo
Mark,
I have an airflow test on just about everything, not sure who did the test but here is what they stated for TBI: TBI 574.1 CFM complete, 584.7 CFM w/o injectors. Tim |
