I was just there Sunday. We rode golf cart all over a pumpkin patch and then went to lunch. He was doing great!.What a great friend. May he rest in peace.

Gonna miss a good friend and a great man. Always said to me he wanted Homer and I in the final at all our CCRA races. God Bless you Gil and Rest in Peace. My sincere Condolences to Sandy, Homer and Chelsea. A great loss for our racing community.

Our thoughts and prayers to Sandy, Homer and Chelsea. The Carty's are long time family friends and Gil will be missed terribly. We will always remember the road trips, amusements parks, resturants, etc...and know that Gil now has the best seat in the house while he watches us continue on.

I didn't think the season could get much worse, but I was wrong.
I didn't really know Mr. Carty, but he was obviously a good teacher as well as father.

Such a sad day for the IHRA racing family. Gil was such a great person, racer and supporter of his family. He will truely be missed by all. Our prayers are w/ Sandy, Homer, and Chelsea during this difficult time from the Robbins family.

My heart goes out to Homer, Chelsey and Sandy. I as well as many others on this site have walked your road. The road will be bumpy but we all know the true source of strength, courage and guidance does not lie our abilities but in that of our creator and the one who sustains us.... Jesus Christ. Gil was a great friend to us. We will certainly lift you up in our prayers.

I had a long talk with Gil in Darlington just a few short weeks ago and he said that he was feeling good,driving his golf cart and said that he thought that he was going to be able to drive his race car next year. I was very happy that he was feeling better and things were looking up. Now I am verry sad that he is gone. God bless Gil and his family.

I had the opportunity to talk with Gil at the London divisional race earlier this year, I could tell that he still loved racing as much as ever....and was looking forward to racing the wagon again soon. I enjoyed talking with him about old times racing with him and dad, I will miss him very much.

Homer, you and mom need to get the wagon out and race the hell out of it!!!!!!!....thats what your dad would want. My sincere condolenses, another great racer, and great friend gone. RIP
