Good afternoon gang - Normally I wouldn't start this thread for another day or two but since things aren't normal coming into this race ..........well, most of you that are entered have received notice that pit staging has been moved - its now next to the VF Outlet mall .Just so you know - there is plenty of security in this lot - and plenty of room .And this is not second hand info - I'm number 12 in line and checked things out myself .

Next we'll talk about the track -as usual there are plenty of rumors going around- most have no basis what-so-ever.After parking this morning I went to the track to see for myself - I met with Lex Dudas ( Vice-President and General Manager of Maple Grove ) and toured the facility with him .I must say the place never looked better ( and I've been going to MG since the early seventies) - that said - why the move to the parking lot - no - and I repeat - no standing water anywhere .But the ground is soft - much too soft to drive motorhomes and heavy trailers on - but the Sun has been out most of today and that will help bigtime .

This reporter thinks it is a very prudent move by the NHRA and Maple Grove Raceway parking us elsewhere while things dry out a little .

If you're entered load-up and come on over ............And I'll keep everyone informed weather wise - things at this time look terrific from Wednesday on .

Isn't the race the weekend of the 15th of OCT.
Did it get moved up?

Almost forgot - for those of you coming thru RT 222 the Hess station near Kutztown , PA has diesel fuel @ $3.83 cash or credit .Fill 'er up .........

See, there is at least one good thing about living in New Jersey....

Diesel is 15 to 20 cents cheaper and they pump it ! :)

BTW, PA has about $0.22 more tax on diesel than other states.
I'm sure they are using it to keep up our superb highways and bridges !!

I'm anticipating a repete of last year,where we sat and waited for things to dry out.
which worked out OK except for only getting 1 hit on the track before Elims.

I hope I'm wrong!!

This is a more accurate forecast because it comes from the track area. Reading is technically about 10 miles away I believe. Forecast looks great with no rain but a cold saturday.

Sure would expect so, but since you have a small tow rig and trailer operation like me, they can throw you anywhere and not have to tow you out later! What time are you predicting first Qualifying hit will be for SS?

"Where do we go if we arrive thursday morning?
His answer was... proceed to the track.

it says parking and tech on wed. from 10 to 6. I was planning on getting there around 2 on wed. is that not happening now? I just wanted to come right to the track. Thanks for the info in advance.

parking (and tech) is happening on Wed, but you need to go to VF Outlet to wait your turn to go to the track to get parked. (if you come on wed... or earlier)

Good morning - Fog is the word this morning - and plenty of it here in the Lehigh Valley - but the temperature is to reach eighty this afternoon and its not raining - but there is a possibility of showers later - we'll keep our fingers crossed .Every minute its not raining is a minute that the grounds are drying .

I'm back at work today - off to Manheim Philadelphia and later catch a shuttle to the "holding" lot in West Reading ............later .

Click on the NHRA competition icon at the top of the page, the schedule will be available from the link on the left side ,when they make one.
