It's rated 195 without the SS stripes and 235 with the SS stripes... ;)

Re: 2012 Race Camaro

Has somebody rolled the calendar back to 1963 or 64 and forget to tell me. LOL. Surely nobody thought they would stay out of it with all the Dodges and Fords hitting the track.

Instead of Chuck Barris "The Dating Game" we got NHRA's "The Rating Game." Hope we don't get 11 seasons (like Chuck's show) of this game. Hey, we even got three contestants like the other show( Ford, Dodge and now Chevy).

Just wonder if being 5-6 years late for the dance will effect sales numbers?

You serious? There's LOTS of chebby fanboys everywhere.

surprised all the crying hasn't done something before this....kind of a reverse 1957 AMA ban.

Re: 2012 Race Camaro

Yes I'm serious. Its not like its a fresh new idea anymore and with the economy being what it is just how many people are left out there willing and able to drop a $100K on a new ride? After 3 or 4 years of the CJ and DP's just wondering how many of the new CJ or DP's could have been a new ZL-1 if they came out at the same time? I'm sure there will be a hand full of them built but I'm just not sure that its smart business for Government Motors. I'm not brand loyal to GM as I'm sure its obvious. But I do not want to see them gone. Just questioning the move on the financial / business side of it.

I don't see them selling enough of those to make it very profitable.

They are so damn ugly I dont see how they sell as many for the street as they do and Im a GM guy, MoPar second, and Ford 3rd (unless its a 63 lite wt.).

Randall Klein 10-05-2011 02:24 PM

Re: 2012 Race Camaro

Ugly? I guess I thought they may grow on me...I actually saw a silver one from the side that caught my eye, and then....one was coming at me straight on...what they heck are they towing I wondered? Geeez its just the fat hips; I really can't see how they sell with that chopped roof line and fat hips....and I'm a Chevy guy....I really think they'd look bad with 9 inchers, I keep looking at Martell's new one, ain't too bad from the side, but fatties help any car

I feel it could be great for the sport. it could be like 1962 when the big three all ran in Super Super Stock - yes, SS/S was the class. (413 Dodges, 406 Fords and 409 Chevys)

Sure looks like a 9" ford rear in that thing. So is that going to make the 9" a legal rear for all GM cars in stock? Still wondering what the shipping weight is going to be on that thing. It is a BIG car.

9" Ford, 4-link, Whipple blower on the AA car, 7.0L LS7 on the A car, mentions of more motors in the future. Same story, different body...

Here's a hint, you've been wrong about everything regarding this car to this point.

12 bolt drop in would be the best way to go.

Yeah, if this is right the guy I know is clueless.
Still a big car for 3000 lbs.

A 12 bolt drop-in is what I would use. Is it Mark Williams, or Strange that makes that "pumpkin"? Light with less power loss.
