Live from the '11 Dutch Classic .90 style
 

Hi all. Since we have wifi access here at the Grove , I'll try to keep you up tp date from the Super class point of view.
Hopefully we can get some photos from Johnny D. and Kenny, along with some from my personal photographer, Kathy.

Track crew has been out blowing an sweeping the track since about 7:00 this morning and they are making some headway.
The mist and humidity are falling a little,but we need the clouds to break a little.

Parking is starting to get tight. ....There are still some spaces on asphalt for smaller rigs.
A few rigs are parked along the trees in the field and it looks fairly firm where they are.
the top of the hill is fairly firm near the bottom half.

Tech is going on at the moment. ... Not much else.

Tom,

I'll hopefully have some Pics for you tomorrow since I'll be rolling up there after work tonight. Thanks for doing the "Live From" reports for the .90 Guys.

Hopefully Jack and Toby won't get mad since you'll be cutting into their salaries now...haha.

Hopefully you can get some good photos from someone. I'll be missing the Dutch this year to attend the East Coast Drag Time Hall of Fame ceremonies in North Carolina. I'd like to be at the Dutch but I'm really not that fond of getting wet after the year we've had. Stay dry!

Eddie, if you leave now ,you still won't have missed anything.
They have stopped drying the track for the moment.
Still no rain,but it's close to misting.

They just fired up the jet drier,and said Stock will go out in about 40 min.
Still overcast and damp but the drack is almost ready to go!

Well they tried ,but the shut down area just wont dry,and it started to rain again so they pulled the plug for today.

I am planning on coming up tomorrow. I was wondering if there is anyone who will be able to fill a co2 bottle. I haven't had any luck having it filled at home.

Mark,

Lucky or Kenny Moses usually have CO2 Tanks in their trailers and will do it for a few bucks.

Well the weather is better than was predicted or expected this morning.
The clouds are broken ,a light breeze is blowing and they are drying the track!
Racers are steadily coming into the track,and it looks like no one has gotten stuck while parking ,yet.

Maby its a good omen for the weekend ,my diesel Onan generator decieded it was going to start this morning ,after not starting since last Saturday with a stuck governer switch!

9:30 and the jets are rolling on the track.
They usuall wont waste the fuel unless they are fairly confident of running some cars

Well it only took a few seconds for Mother Nature to wipe out all the D1 staffs hard work at prepping the track!
It's raining buckets right now,and if it stops it'll probably be too late for them to dry the track.
Joe and others,I'll try to find out about tech.

I feel bad for all the racers, fans and DIV-1 workers and officials this season. Seems like every race and event was plagued with something this year. Praying that Saturday and Sunday will be nice and dry. It just seems to never end!

Well we managed to catch a few racers out between the raindrops.
the most recent thunderstorm is passing and the sun and blue sky is peaking out over the mountain again.
The PT boat license plate is appropriate for my pit spot which has turned into a river!

Friday - Started to dry the track only to be rained on again. Tech will be extended into Saturday morning and there will be 2 time runs/qualifying runs. Second session will be round one of Hemi Shootout and American Muscle.

It's a beautiful day here at the Grove.
Usually we call a day like this, after two rainy days at the track ,Monday!
The jets are running Tech is open and there are cars everywhere.
Maby I can get them to run the drier over my pit spot ,which is usually a very solid spot,but has turned into a river bed after yesterdays storms!

8:50AM and they just called Stock to the lanes/

S/ST and SC are done with their time runs fro the day .
I will have names and pictures of the bogie winners later.

Super Gas once again looses their 2nd run to time allotment and circus acts.
They will get a time run on Sunday morning as a consolation.
